  • hey veggie hows it going..well now im in risk of early frost tonite and nothin but rain for weeks to come....in your opinion should i ,,dig up my 2 ladies that are left in ground and bring them in to finish,,( i only have 4- 4ft floresent lites for cloning)...or leave them outside (battling mold out there)..,or just harvest what i have on them.....im sure they have a good 4-5 weeks left and they definatly wont last that long outdoors..they have decent buds on them that look great but will digging them up and putting them under such crappy lighting even be worth it, cause if they live and will still bud decently under that lite then they have lots of good budding time left in them......

i usualy start a thread and ask,,but always looking for the opinion that counts..thnx veggie.
hey i want to do an outdoor grow and shal i start my seeds of at 14/10 light, wich is the light outdoors when i want to plant !!! or do i have to start them indoors on 24/0 ??? i would prefer the first 1 ???

Help longest day were i am is december 22
Yes, I have a few of that one. But this particular guy is called an "orange mint moth" He is about half the size of skipper. What is strange, and I'm sure you can appreciate with gardening, this is my third year here and this moth only showed up this year. They are out during the day and lots of them. And the caterpillar is so small, like 1/4". I have been very diligent with BT and am seeing little to no damage. Thanks for info
I met up with a local member here on the site in the next town over hes real good with indoors and tells me that dust and pollen can blow on out door plants and buds? Making it not the as well as indoor whats your opinion?
How close to harvest do you BT? Smart to use the butterflies as sign. This year I have got this new little orange moth. It is out during the day and I find it in plants all the time. Very small , like size of dime, and they are super quick and hard to catch.
As always, thanks for your time

Thanks for info and great pics. I noticed you use BT. How often do you spray and how far into flowering do you think it is okay to use? I have been using about once a week for the last month. Seeing very little damage now, do believe it has definitely knocked them back. Weird I have only found them in the plants that are furthest along. Seems they like the sticky and more developed flowers. Bastards.
well glad i didnt cut them last few down veggie....the brown tips seem to be going away and buds in last 2 days have gotten considerably bigger...also i seem to smell them now as i get out on my front step.....i had cut the top off one b4 and noticed a borer went rite in the top part i cut,but managed to get him out with a piece of wire and fishing him out the top...i have bought some srpay that kills moths and gnats and spider mites and everything esle,,should it harm my plant if i spray i rite down the top hole where i cut off b4..
dam if i knew you were online i wouldnt of started a thread lol,,,,,is it good idea to use fan for a bit to dry these soaked buds,,,or just shake em off and hang...
well ive decided to harvest my bigger plants as i seem to be cutting buds off every mourning now due to some mold, and they were very close to being ready anyways,,,,and i left the plants that have the brown tipped pistols in hopes they swell soon, but doesnt seem to be getting any mold on them so i hope im good in that aspect....thnx for the help..
If the borers are from moths or butterflies, Bt would be effective.

If you can slice the stem lengthwise and get the worm, the stem/khola might be salvageable. The butterfly pictured on my page is the source of bud worms in my area.

Mold is tough. After each rain shower, go out and shake excess moisture out of the buds. Harvest any khola just below any mold. Remove the moldy section plus a bit, and dry the rest. Dry these buds quickly and completely to minimize the chance of more mold appearing. After that, you can add small amounts of humidity to encourage curing This will require some time and effort to keep it in check.

I really don't know of any anti fungal agents that wouldn't make the buds iffy to smoke.

I'm betting they are out there, at hydro stores. Maybe do a search?

shoot sorry,,one other thing..on 2 other plants i have spotted small signs of mold, just on one bud on each plant..so i cut out the mold spot and now i'm expecting rain for next 3 days,,any tricks for keeping water off or preventing this mold before it happens..
funny you should say that cause my dog seems to be getting her thicker coat of hair ,my wife was mentioning that just the other day.....and yes the buds are small but sticky and stinky as hell..i was thinking they should be done soon as it was getting rainy and cold around my parts,,but was hoping thesebuds would get bigger...thnx for the input and time...Also is there any easy way for getting rid of borer worms...i have noticed 1 in the top part of my plant due to the hole he left to get inside the stem..i cut a slice down and found the worm but couldnt save the top of the plant and had to cut it off, and possibly noticing another bulge in one of my other plants along with the hole where he went in..and obviously they arnt a good thing so i want to get them gone,,,but dont want to keep hacking plants if not nessary
ok veggie,, need some help buddy, if your not busy sometime...the plants i transplanted were doing wonderful as i mentioned..now im 3rd week or into flowering and buds are size of quarters (which is ok) but now the pistol tips are turning brown, like all them..please tell me their not done growing and theres something i can do..
dam veggie thnx a bunch,,,after that transplant into the ground from buckets you advised and the transplant mix ....WOW,, FRIGIN PLANTS HAVE DOUBLED IN SIZE SINCE THE TRANSPLANT....oh and the site wont let me give you anymore rep lol tells me to spread it around hahha...anysways thnx for your time and help.
Hey veggie gota ?? for you.My plant is growing vigourusly but the leaves start off a neon yellowish color in the middle of the leaf.By the time the leaf grows out it looks healthy again.Any idea about this?
Man i looked at the first page of your outdoor garden and i was amazed. So check it out i am starting on my holes for next years grow. You think 2 feet deep and 2-3 feet wide is gonna be big enough? I am almost 2 feet deep now and it looks like a lot of soil is gonna be used just for one lol

    thanks
I'm not a fan of adding carbs to my nute mix. Many people swear by it, claiming increased yields. Maybe look around and see if anyone seems certain of results? I'm not saying don't try molasses. Just that I'm not experienced with it.
