I am on my second grow but learning as well. My first harvest I got a half an elbow of nice dense nugs off one of these https://growace.com/grow-light/yield-lab-grow-lights/ga-elite-600w-hps-mh-air-cool-hood-reflector-grow-light-kit.html
I also trained and topped and wove the tops into a trellis net. I attribute the decent first crop to all that.
Do u have a picture? Also were u cooling that unit?
Hold on let me dig up my old phone

What would be a good lighting system for a beginning grower?? Budget range 100-200$
Look into LED if ur not going to be cooling the room with AC. That's my suggestion. They have small units u can easily do a plant or two I see people on here all the time dangling LED's with results :eyesmoke: :peace:

I can’t find that phone. This is the newest pic that transferred. There are also a couple clones in the back that I didn’t factor into yield because they foxtailed. I got a whole yield lab set with inline fans and a tent. Ducted it all up to keep it cool but it still got up there a few times so I hooked a window unit from outside the tent to a floor fan inside and left the door to the tent open slightly during lights on

LOL, well for Perch go to Moon River Ontario, head to the mouth of the river and stand a few hundred yards up from the cottages towards the marsh. As for the gold mine, I will let you know once I find it. bongsmilie

Edit: I just realized, you will have to tell me where you live and where you are coming home from or I won't be able to help you :)

What I meant was, is that is your entire budget for the ‘grow’, or is that for the light.

If that is for your entire grow, then you need other things like seeds, dirt, fertilizers, containers... things like that. So your light budget might be a few LED light bulbs and some lamps from around the house.

What is the scale of your adventure?

I got everything but the lighting. Just trying out a plant or 2 for starters

Appreciate the love. And a 4x4 closet with just a small LED setup for a plant or 2
What country? Many sales going on. With a small budget you could go with something like a Spiderfarmer SF2000, it should be sufficient for 1 or 2 plants. It's less than half the light you would want for that tent but with 1 or 2 plants it would work. It's about the size of your canopy and not the size of your tent. Your budget wont get you an optimal light for that space but it will suffice for a plant or 2 and than you could add to it later to add more plants to the tent.
