First this:

2 rural Oregon counties vote to consider joining Idaho; Move Oregon’s Border dream remains long shot

They can't win an election, so, they vote to gerrymander state borders.

But wait, there is more: They want to overthrow the election with a circus clown act:
Kate Brown won the race for governor in 2018 by a 6% margin, 50.1% to 43.7%. The last Republican governor was Tom McCall in 1975. Just saying, it's been a long time and they are tired of waiting, so, RECALL KATE BROWN, because, well, I don't know but they sure don't like her.

First recall effort (Kurt Saindon; ended)
The recall petition was filed on April 30, 2020, by Kurt Saindon. No signatures were submitted by the July 29, 2020, deadline.

Second recall effort (Kelsey Massey; ended)
The recall petition was filed on May 2, 2020, by Kelsey Massey. No signatures were submitted by the July 31, 2020, deadline.

Third recall effort (Bill Currier; ended)
The recall petition was filed by Bill Currier, chairman of the Oregon Republican Party, on June 2, 2020. He filed an unsuccessful recall effort against Gov. Brown in 2019.

After the right wing mob was agitated by Trump and unleashed on the traitorous Congress, the lone Republican in Oregon's delegation to DC said this about his vote on Jan 6 to overturn the election:

Oregon’s lone Republican in Congress votes to overturn election after pro-Trump mob storms Capitol
“My goal was to protect the integrity of our elections and to prompt all states to uphold election laws as determined by their state legislatures – all in accordance with our Constitution,” Bentz said in a statement Thursday morning.

“I would not describe today as ‘coup.’ I would call it a protest gone really wrong, really bad,” Bentz told The Oregonian/OregonLive. “As far as judging the president, I don’t see how that’s very productive right now”

They keep doubling down, it's no longer if the president committed sedition, it's Democrats staging the siege at the Capitol Building:

Oregon Republican Party falsely calls U.S. Capitol riot a ‘false flag’ meant to ‘discredit President Trump’

Three weeks after hundreds of people stormed the U.S. Capitol in a violent rampage that left one police officer and four rioters dead and led to more than 100 arrests of the pro-Trump rioters, the House delivered an article of impeachment to the Senate, charging the former president with inciting the mob.

In Oregon, the state Republican Party isn’t just backing former president Donald Trump — its official position falsely claims that the entire episode was a “false flag” operation staged to discredit the GOP and silence Trump’s supporters.
Last week, the state party released a resolution passed by its executive committee that says the supposedly fake operation was meant to undermine Trump and give more power to President Biden, citing websites by John Solomon and the Trump-friendly Epoch Times.

So, yeah, Oregon has interesting politics.

for sure.

I grew up in Gresham. I never would have thought My home state would turn into a bunch of raving lunatics. It is really disappointing and sad. That fucktard trump really complicated things by sending in the feds. For the most part republicans are not even human at this point. I have no interest in even having a conversation with one.

Most people dont even know what your sig pic is. I remember my boss said China will never tolerate this. It wasnt a week later that photo was taken.

the past four years, I sometimes felt like that guy.

Oregon is a blue state and even the GOP of Oregon admits they cannot see them winning back the Governor's seat or winning control of the legislature for the foreseeable future. Of the five Representatives Oregon sent to DC, one is a ReTrumplican. What he doesn't have in numbers he more than makes up for it with lunacy. The other four, as well as the two senators from OR are pretty good.

Still though, we have an active though powerless GOP that probably gets more attention than it should and they are pieces of work. But Oregon is by no means alone.

Here is a piece of legislation introduced in Missouri:

Missouri bill would allow deadly force against demonstrators

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — A Missouri senator on Monday pitched a bill that would allow the use of deadly force against protesters on private property and give immunity to people who run over demonstrators blocking traffic.
The proposal is one of several that follow sometimes violent protests in Missouri last summer over the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis police custody, including demonstrations that blocked traffic on busy roads in the St. Louis area.
“To think that your right to protest enables you the right to stop traffic and literally stop people's ability to move about freely in this nation is a gross misunderstanding of our constitutional rights,” bill sponsor Sen. Rick Brattin said during the Monday hearing.

The GOP are doubling down. They refuse to accept their loss in November and they are going to go full throated radical authoritarian right between now and 2022 in their belief that they can win be being MORE authoritarian than they were during Trump's term.

TThe Harrisonville Republican said blocking traffic can be dangerous if it stops ambulances or police from responding to emergencies.
Missouri civil rights leader the Rev. Darryl Gray told committee members that people also disagreed with how the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. protested, but “those same methods that you seek to criminalize are the same methods that helped to destroy Jim Crow laws, segregation and destroyed centuries of hatred and bigotry.”

That bill would provide immunity to anybody who runs down a protester in their car. It allows people to shoot protesters if they set foot on their property. I don't know about you but nonviolent protest wasn't considered a capital offense until now. Then again, I don't think they are thinking straight any more.

All of them. Hell, we gotta go make some more as there aren't enough existing points to cover it.

Republicans are in a tough spot of their own making, they have to keep going wackier or get primaried by someone who is. Its bad for the country but funny as hell if you are a very cynical person.
you saw how fast Corporate America stepped up and cut 'em off?

no one is amused any longer.
