It here any difference between inline and extractor fans?

I’ve been looking for a fan for my 8x4 grow tent but I’m not sure if there is a difference between extractor and inline. It may seem really stupid to ask but does inline mean it takes out the air from inside the grow tent because that sounds like something the extractor would do, or are they both the same?

An extractor fan does not handle static pressure. As soon as you put the filter on, the fan speed will drop drastically; the cfm won't be as rated. An online fan can handle the pressure from the filter and any ducting.

Extractor fan as in those silver booster fans?

The industry name is a booster fan. Duct booster fan. Unless it’s oscillating or on a stand. Inline fans are booster fans. Available at Lowe’s in all popular sizes.

Well OP, you question was pretty much answered already. All I can do is recommend a fan for your setup now.

I’m a fan (pun intended) of the AC Infinity series fans, specially the T6 as I rock two of them with their Controller 67 upgrade. Great product for the price and has no issues moving air in my tents.

If you're curious and want to know more, google axial vs centrifugal fans. Centrifugal fans are better at handling static pressure, which is caused by blocking air flow with a carbon filter, longer runs of ducting, etc. That said, some of those issues can be overcome by simply getting a larger axial fan, an example of which is the ever popular AC Infinity, which I happen to own. Centrifugal fans tend to have a longer lifespan as well. It comes down to your personal needs for air extraction.

AC infinity cloud line I think it's called. Has 8 different speeds. I got one it's kinda nice

Edit. Oh I didn't read. They the same thing, depends which way you're pulling the air that's it
I think I’m going to get the ac infinity because of how easy it is to use plus you can control the humidity and temp. Thanks for the help
