Hi all,

First time grower here. Made a number of mistakes and learned quite a bit...but it seems to be taking forever - week 15 at this point! I keep looking for amber trichomes but just not seeing it. Should I give it more time?

Any advice is welcome. Thank you!

From the last pic in the dark, you look super heavy on nitrogen. Hard to tell because the pictures are crappy. Thought they made phones better nowadays or you got a dinosaur phone?

Apologies for the shitty pictures. Obviously new to this. Was trying to show the buds up close for the trichomes. Hopefully these are better.

As a general rule, whenever anyone asks is it ready: the answer is no.

I have no goddamn clue if yours are ready but I'm very sure other people are going to say goddamn no, wait a while and be patient.

And as a general rule in life, that is good advice.

And as another general rule, you should have fat buds with leaves sticking out of them, not fat leaves with buds embedded inside them. On the other hand this is strain specific and some buds just don't get that fat. Some people choose small buds to avoid the possibility of mold.

Not sure if they are ready, im just here to congratulate you on a very green and healthy plant you got for a first time grower. Also I think doing a vertical grow, or at least I think that's what having the grow lights on the side is called, is cool.

What strain is that? Looks like a sativa, but have NEVER heard of ANY strain taking over 10 wks... Raised AK (sativa) for over 10 yrs (8 weeks max). I now have BB3 (hybrid-sativa dominant) and it goes 9-10 weeks.

I did not say it was impossible. Simply am not aware of any strains (in my experience) that go over 12. I know personally and without a doubt that the strains I have dealt with are 8 max and 9-10 weeks.
The reason I asked what strain it is that they have.
Was not trying to initiate an argument or fight.

Hi welcome “new member”

here’s straight from my breeders website

9- 10 week flower time, 11 for headstash and face melting potency.

It’s northern lights auto flower from seedsman. According to their site, it should have taken 55-60 days but I understand those estimates are usually on the short side.

You should try 2 of the same strain and phenotype. Pull one at 10-12 weeks and let the other go 14-16 maybe 20. Dry and cure thr same way and tell me what you like better.

You stated NEVER..... Seemed pretty definitive on your part

But I get it,in your bubble nothing last longer than 10 weeks in flower, which now you say is 12 weeks
I am VERY DEFINITIVE as to what I have PERSONALLY dealt with. I stated that the strains I have PERSONALLY dealt with are 8-10 weeks. I do know people who have strains that go 12. I PERSONALLY have never dealt with strains that take over 10 weeks....
Did that help to clarify your bubble?

I have thought about doing that this time around with the BB3 strain I have now. I have heard people say they like the early for certain reasons and later for other reasons. Would be an interesting and fun experiment none the less... :)

Lol

You need to read more then

The earth isn't flat either..case it was outside your bubble
I do read a lot...
I will bet that you are one of the ones who Googles something and you believe every word of what they as gospel on that ONE link. Try clicking on 3-4 different links with the same question and tell me you don't get VERY MIXED information.
I KNOW what my PERSONAL experiences are and have been. That is all I know to be fact. So I don't give advice unless I know for a FACT that I am telling you something you can take to the bank. So back up there and review where this began and see if I gave any advice or suggestions,... NO I DID NOT!
I asked what strain/phenotype they were working with. If I don't know for a FACT, I do not interject or give advice on something that I know nothing about.
So find a scab to pick because I refuse to let you get under my skin.
I KNOW what I say and all you want to do is twist my every word.
Is this forum not a place to learn from other people's experiences? Or to ask questions of others who might know more than we do if we have problems or issues? Google does not give a clear concrete answer to ANY question. So why would people not want to come to a forum such as this to "READ" and learn? That's what I came here for.... I have experience, but I am ALWAYS willing to learn more!

I'm sorry Yoyo, I honestly do not know the first thing about auto flower. Your plants look very healthy from what I can tell from your pictures, so you are doing something right. I used to use a jewelers loop to check for amber. I believe it was a 60X. It worked great for me.
