Are there any dangerous chemicals in boveda humidity packs and do you suggest putting 1 in mason jar when curing?

Lol. It's some kind of salts. It says it's non toxic. Do you plan on eating them?
Boveda packs won't help you cure.
They're meant for maintaining a certain rh%. Or to rehydrate overdried material. It won't bring back tastes or make it any better. That's all drying properly.

I heard to put them in after a couple days of curing because the packs affect the taste . Never done it myself but heard from other growers it will effect the taste if used early in the curing process

Boveda consists of a natural solution of purified water and salts enclosed in a reverse osmosis permeable membrane. The result is clean, purified water vapor

There are no issues, neither personally nor of what I've heard from others, of any chemical exposure to your buds when placed in your jar. There is a debate as to whether or not Boveda can decrease aromatic qualities of buds when used as a preventative measure as opposed to rejuvenating old buds (they're already not very aromatic). I've used them with fresh buds just to experiment and I noticed little difference. That being said, there are others that swear that these packs absorb some of the flavor and aroma of their buds. But there is no risk of chemical exposure unless you puncture the pack and expose that to the buds.

When weed reaches 55% it starts breaking down, trichomes become brittle and fall off. I haven't ever not used a humidity pack for curing ( once buds themselves are below 58% ) to know the difference in terpenes. The buds themselves will remain above 55% for a couple weeks ( time varies ) for proper curing of a month to long term storage if humidity packs do take away from terpenes keeping weed above 55% out weighs the break down of the part of the plant we grow for, dem trichs

Afaik they're non toxic but I've been hearing that they rob terps.
I wouldn't say non toxic. The company is lying about all ingredients. Check msds on them.

Smoke shitty weed then. I don't know how you would smoke it, if it doesn't touch your bud. It's not like it's a gas that expels from the humidity pack

How does a pack work if ingredients just sit in pack???? If so just throw a piece of paper in there
It allows water vapor out the component you're referring to doesn't seep out in gas form. You can't control a piece of paper it'll be high when its wet and humidity will fall fast. Those packs last 6 months or more. Plus a piece of wet paper will get your buds wet probably leading to mold
