Trics vs hairs...time for flush?

Good reads, thanks for sharing.
I see the one blind study showed users preferred the non flushed.
However, in the other, the chemical breakdown showed no discernable difference between flushing and not...so that really doesn't prove your point either. Seems like, according to the chemistry, both ways are equal...
Am I reading it wrong?

Sure, if that's what you think useful advice looks like. Sounded a lot like they were crying about someone not having their same opinion regarding flushing. Which is fine, but if that's the case, then support your opinion...

Suds did finally provide some content by way of links to articles about two studies...which weren't very supportive either* way. The first one was a single study about a few people's choice in a blind study and the other proved neither point as the chemistry showed both methods to be the same.
Very useful.

They're advising you not to flush. Useful advice is useful.

Lol don't play the lotto today! You're batting .000

I can assure you, what I've said is true...not really sure what reason I'd have to lie about it. Believe it or not, your choice...fake news and all that bs, right? Don't forget to put on your tin foil hat and cover your cell phone with foil to prevent the 5g from making you sick.

I have a hunch this isn’t a “new member” and he’s not on his “first grow”

In your own words both methods , same result = Flushing to finish does zero

My advice is watch all the you tube great growers
Be sure and pour hot coffee on your roots cause caffeine as we all know gets things moving before the flush
Not sure if you put your nails thru the stems before or after flush?
And always hang your plants upside down so all that good stuff runs up into the buds...after drying
If I feel the need to add anymore Bro-science theories , I'll let ya know

Phew such good zingers in there. I don't know how I'll ever recover.
Definitely worth you coming back to the thread to share such useful wisdom.
Thanks for wasting more of your time on my behalf

Hey OP your plants have several more weeks to go. If you want to feed with just water the last couple weeks wait until all the pistils are orange and you will be close enough for a first grow. Plants don’t mature over night it takes weeks, so don’t worry you will wait to long. It’s way easier to harvest early then late.

I’ll also add that “flushing” isn’t “feeding with water for 2 weeks.” That’s just called feeding with water....

Some growers have tried to change the meaning of the term to suit their goals but until the last several years it meant “flushing” 3x the volume of water through the medium. That is typically what you would do if you NEEDED to flush during a grow to remove a salt build up. I capitalized “need” because flushing can cause damage to the root system, and the plant can take time to recover.

The last several years some people have been feeding with water at the end and have tried to start calling that flushing. Which creates lots of confusion and misconceptions.

You are right the scientific proof shows there is no difference between water fed plants and nutrient fed plants at harvest. The biggest key is actually waiting until they are ready. Many new growers do not, and they start starving the plants BEFORE they are really in that final window. Doing that will reduce yields and quality.

So if you’d like to feed just water go for it. You’ll save a couple bucks on nutrients in the end. But don’t do it thinking you are improving the smoke some how or removing nutrients from the buds because science proved that’s not true either and spreading that kind of broscience is what has caused some of these guys to get uppity and tired of these questions.

Gotcha - thanks for the thoughtful and well written response, Thundercat.
I confess, I misused the word flushing, but you are correct I just meant watering without nutes before harvest. I don't actually plan on flushing as if to fix a nute lockout issue.
I'll keep what you said in mind. Very useful.
Thanks again

How does that not prove the point to use your own words one study they preferred the weed not flushed and the other couldn't tell the difference where's the study group that said they preferred flushed weed there's isn't one this is very old debate now it's your choice flush if you want your weed but if there's no difference why bother doing it unless you can't afford the nutes personally I use organic living soil which is always full of nutrients so it would be impossible to flush it away

One single study that had a few people choose the non flushed is not much proof at all. Very anecdotal.
And again, the chemical study doesn't support either argument, so it doesn't make sense that you are using it as supporting evidence for your opinion.
You anti-flush guys have a strange way of arguing. It's almost as if you're arguing with yourselves.

The Dr who did the study has repeated it 3 different times Dr Stephanie can't remember her last name she did an interview with Shane from Migro YouTube channel check it out only 45 minutes long watch that then tell me your unconvinced and i don't care what you do with your weed as I recall you're the one who made a post asking when to flush and you got the same answer everyone gets us anti-flush guys as you like to call us are just growers like you with a different opinion you have already clearly done the harvest bingo research flush 1-2 weeks 48hrs darkness ect I wish you could do a word search of all the post on hear I bet the two phrases with the most hits would be "when do I flush" and "should I leave in 48hrs darkness before chopping" but it always makes me laugh
