DIY with Quantum Boards

My point was supposed to be about my generation. Us kids who got trophies for losing. They make shitty adults. Whatever profession they chose. And that's why a lot of industries seem to be falling apart, in my opinion.

Not specific to computer programming but that just happens to be the field that most of them went into.

You do know it was parents from the 70s that started that participation trophy shit right? Like my 60 year old mom got participation trophies. So we already live in a world that is ran by people who got participation torphies.

I hate the new HLG website. It took me a google search to even find the new 200 on the site, and you can't order items from lowest to highest, etc. The old site worked fine. It it ain't broke, dun fix it.
I think the site sucks but found the 200 in a couple seconds. I clicked QB kits under the catalog menu and the 200 is the first thing I saw.
Then I clicked on the light and found very little info. That's my typical experience, they make me dig to find the information.

They should provide a lot more than this....

HLG 200 Diablo is a 200W LED lamp, powered with our custom QB648, a LED Module designed by Horticulture Lighting Group®. Each board has 648pc Full Spectrum LM301H LED's and 18 pc Deep Red 660nm LM351H LED's. The QB648 Diablo has the highest quality and efficiency in the Quantum Board® line. The extended cord allows for remote mounting of the driver.

Dimmable 200 Watts

Voltage Range 120-277 VAC

LED White + Deep Red

Veg Footprint 4' x 4'

Recommended Flower Footprint 2' x 2'

I agree. I actually left a message on their site about the new site sucking.

It can consist of programming actually. I have a minor in computer science and we learned languages that are used to program websites. Java and C (including C#) were a couple of them.

But I understand what you're saying. A lot of sites just follow a website building program and all the programming is done behind the scenes by the website development program.
Sure, I mean python can also be used along with webpages, and you can write python programs which output HTML, but that isn't the case with HLG's site so far as I can tell. HTML is the language that most web pages are run off, or course there are java based pages too, but even those are embedded within HTML, aka hyper text markup language.

I completely disagree. In fact the most creative minds are those who rarely received punitive interaction from their parents, and were allowed to thrive without the need for competition.

Ah, I guess that's why I missed it, I didn't think it would be in the kits section.

What's wrong with participation trophies? You would rather that a child feel disappointed and inadequate because they don't place in the top 3? That's a great way to crush interest and creativity. Not everyone can be in the top three, no matter how much effort they put in. That doesn't make them losers though.

Do you think Einstein won a lot of school competitions as a youngster? Oh wait he didn't, that's right, because he was home schooled.

I dont think anywhere in my comment I said there was anything wrong with it. Not sure what from my comment made you think this.

Yeah, then they go to school, tell the teacher that you threatened them/beat them, DFS shows up, takes your kids, charges you with felony child abuse and you can figure out where shit goes from there.

Yeah, they got the message.. to fear their parent. Great work there.

Participation awards are awful, I mean who needs something that provides kids with positive reinforcement, teaches the value of hard work/teamwork, elevates children's success, and increases self-esteem? Totally unimportant in today's society.

There is nothing inherently wrong with participation trophies. But they are a symbol of our entitlement culture that has gotten out of control. They teach us that we should be rewarded not for our achievements but instead for trying our best. And that is just not how the world works. The old adage of telling your kids "you can be anything you want to" is popular, but the suffix "if you work hard enough" is not popular enough.

You can see entitlement in the new generation pretty much anywhere you look, including in myself and in my posts (notice how smart i think i am?). Not saying every kid who ever got a participation trophy, because for sure some kids see the silliness of it, and are still motivated to win. But there is a chunk of kids who didn't get it. They thought they really did a good job out there. "2-4-6-8 who-do-we-appreciate" would have been satisfactory imo. Keep the trophies for the winners.

But for real. When are we gonna get that qb96 version 3?

Back to Quantums…

HLG 96s and Sunblaster T5HO ( added Pure Par and Super veg bulbs )
Pure UV / 100,000k finisher bulbs are swapped for flower with Timer control due to uv control so i don’t want crispy girls.

Originally I was going to do HLG60 in between but “ discontinued “ .

Thinking of 3 engine bar ( QB96s ) maybe as a new build.
