On 6/4/2022 at 1437 hours, AST in Ketchikan received a report of a motorcycle crash with serious injuries on North Tongass Highway. Investigation revealed that James Schenk, age 63 of Ketchikan, was traveling Northbound behind a van that was preparing to turn left from the highway. Schenk attempted to pass the van on the left in a double yellow/no passing zone and impacted the driver’s side of the van causing significant injury. Other riders from the group stopped and attempted to render aid to Schenk until EMS arrived. Schenk was transported to a local hospital in Ketchikan in critical condition where he later died as a result of his injuries. Next of kin has been notified.”

This cat traveled the world bringing real genetics back. The IBL Durban I maintain originated from Jim. He had basically turned the business over to his son after a heart attack a few years ago. He was famous once. Still is among those who know.

This is really sad if true. I had a lot of respect for Heime and dudes like him are a dying breed. RIP will be blasting some greatful dead in his honor. Glad I have some sasquatch seeds still will run them indoors this fall and will do an open pollination

I have heard of him. He's left behind a legacy of quality genetics.

These days people flock to the new instagram breeders and their drops. They don't realize where the original genetics many of the new hype breeders strains came from and most don't give credit to the original breeder. They start with strains that originated from people like Heime and then call it all their own.
