Orange Crush from the early 2000’s?

I grew Orange Crush from Vic High BCGA back around in 2001-2002 - I still have a pack stashed away, hoping they will germinate when I get around to them.
Here is his original description.
The California Orange mom is the legendary clone that sets the standard for all other California Oranges to aspire towards. And it has done so for close to two decades. It's super sweet Tang flavor and aroma is unequaled. It's vigor is amazing and it's ease of cloning will vastly be an improvement over the blueberry pollen source on both accounts. The blueberry pollen source speaks for itself and is described above. As with the Romulan mother of Romberry, This California Orange clone does very well at low (25-30 watts/foot) light levels. Both California Orange and blueberry parents are harvested between 50 and 60 days depending on taste. Most prefer the earlier end of the spectrum for the added flavor and happier high. As of May 2000, these are hot off the press and even mine are still small seedlings, therefore untested. Several have been shipped to friends for sharing, so grow reports should be surfacing over the next couple of months.

If it’s original Orange Crush bagseed than that is like gold.

Yea I think I remember reading that the Orange Crush cut was hermie prone so it wouldn’t surprise me If there might still be some OC bagseed out there I say pop em
It comes from the cali o id bet sadly that can show some hermi traits but if its crossed to blueberry to make orange crush its from both sides then cos as we all know blueberry can be prone to it as well this is why stress testing parents is a must imo

That’s amazing that you’ve saved the original bcga seeds all this time. if you end up growing them out I’d be interested to see how they turn out. The original was made with AE77 clone, there was a few different phenos in the S1s I grew but it’s interesting what Vic says about low light requirements of the Cali o. and about pulling early vs later.
Also didn’t know it was made in the year 2000
I think I had it that same year somehow or maybe it was 2001

Well Vic says 25-30 watts with hids I assume which seems like way less than is generally recommended however I think it has to do with genetics Ive read that some other strains like Deep Chunk do well with lower light levels also from what I read at icmag apparently deep chunk is best picked between 50 and 60 days just like what Vic says about Cali o.

I have a @Useful Seeds bag of oranges pheno that is so orange terped/aroma it's too much for me, but I've kept it just because it has Cali-o in the lineage. Usefuls description of the bodhi blood orange pheno he found to make this cross is spot on. Zero candy orange smell/taste, straight sour orange peel/rind tones. Sour AF. Purples up really nice indoor and out. I have one going outside, really hoping it makes it to the finish, I want to run it through my hash washer this fall.

I've run 3 different phenos of BOO, all having orange terps, not all as strong as the others.

I sure have criticism for the "Flavor of the month" philosophy when it comes to how we develop strains and then they are gone.

It's good to see people saving genetics from the not really all that long ago that are so worth saving.
I have a cross circa 2009 with a Haze from that Haze guy ( I don't remember his name but he was the original guy) from Amsterdam (genetics circa 2008) very up and The Doctor from Green House circa 2006 or 2007
It is a wonder to see what land race genetics are like. My medical Strain is a Mean plant. Sprays oils that irritate skin, eyes and sinus when they are moved about. It is a defense against predictors.

So again my respects to folk that are doing genetics saving.

Now I do not intend to "push back on TOS" I am not challenging anyone's authority or pride.

I do know this about Cannabis (AKA HEMP) seeds here in Illinois.

They are legal. Legal to buy, gift and sell.
I believe the reason is the Federal law:

So this post is for conversation purposes only however, I will make a joke at the end.

The Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018
The Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (2018 Farm Bill) authorized the production of hemp and removed hemp and hemp seeds from the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) schedule of Controlled Substances. It also directed the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to issue regulations and guidance to implement a program to create a consistent regulatory framework around production of hemp throughout the United States. The establishment of hemp as a regulated commodity also paves the way for U.S. hemp farmers to participate in other USDA farm programs.
I know I know folks are going to say that the plants that grow from some "Hemp seed" will violate Federal Law because it will exceed the THC % of what is it 0.03% or maybe it is 0.3% BUT the seeds themselves won't.
Sure sure if they are in jars and there is some leftover plant material that is above that percentage, that, one could technically be in possession of a controlled substance but as far I as I understand the seeds themselves are not a controlled substance.
Now if you are not allowed to germinate said worry-some seeds and you do well there is the Federal Supremacy clause no matter what your State Laws are.

Article VI, Paragraph 2 of the U.S. Constitution is commonly referred to as the Supremacy Clause. It establishes that the federal constitution, and federal law generally, take precedence over state laws, and even state constitutions.
Now I am asking for information only purposes and I do believe I had a conversation here on RIU with two DEA officers about it but the wisdom of the crowd should do fine to refresh things; Does this apply to interstate commerce. That Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 that is?
Okay as promised a Joke : RIU could be a Co-Conspirator in the manufacture of a schedule one substance with all the evidence publicly displayed.

:)

So I remember Franko saying they were going to redo "The Doctor" because the phenos were too random.
I understand the Mango Pheno is the rare one. I got one but culled for space. I didn't know better all those years ago.
I assume any releases are of the reworked line. Haven't had the privilege of the new line and as soon as they hit the market they are sold out like in one day.

So about this Orange.

What am I looking for?

I have marked that jar as Mendocino~Love x Orange but it might be some of that or might be one or two Orange alone.

Mendocino~Love smelled just like Patchouli when I smoked it. Real old school 1960s' stuff.

Well I understood the Mango to be the best.
The gear I have has a Cherry waft at the closing of the Stomas (lights out when air is chill). I always grow under HPS.
I am now trying LED but it sucks as far as I can tell. What can I say old school and drool?

I guess I got lucky

My Medical helps me do Coding on the Computer.
The Haze made me go power walking around the park.

I do not have that Haze and I am sad for that as I am fat these daze.

There are times that a conversation makes me so happy. These are those times.

I will try to germinate the "Orange~whatever" next. Po-Po has been here and took my garden so fiver it is max for me. Click yer heals and California allows 12 max.
I do not know what it will do but I will anticipate Hermi Stock as both Mendo and Orange were Hermi AFAIK.
Just have to roll the dice and see what is the spice right?
We have to work on it with the good and bad as a part of it.
Okay I know my next project.
