vermiculite is great and gives girls some extra silica.

Lol yea I can't get that either. The grow store in my town just opened. They have very little in stock, other that some equipment and soil. The guy there said he waiting on inventory, but shipping is slow. Is it absolutely necessary to have either of them in the top dressing?

If it's not warm, don't worry about it. The Craft Blend isn't very hot. There's only a couple things in it that are a little hot. I add other stuff to it sometimes so it could be my other amendments that are heating stuff up more.
Again, It's not necessary to mix it first. I use to just top dress with it dry. And I still do. My plants never burned from using Craft Blend, but my worms would look a little pissed

Ok cool bro. I'm gonna add now. I'm starting to see a lil yellowing on lower leaves. Is the perlite or pumice a necessity?

You don't need it, but I just like to add it to keep the top dressing lighter. I use to just top dress the Craft Blend and mix it in a bit. Sometimes I would throw some straight EWC on top of the top dressing. It works better with the EWC though. Just remember it will take awhile for the top dressing to work. Try to give it before the yellowing if you can.

It's all good. How long do you estimate it takes before it's breaking down enough to start feeding? I'll need to adjust the feeding schedule I believe. I just noticed some yellowing this morning.

Plan on a couple weeks for it to start working. But it will work a little faster if it's premixed like you're doing.

Got it. I'll premix earlier. I'll just keep some made up in a container. I wonder why nobody makes this all premixed,so all you do is add.Lol

Just mix it up regularly to keep it aerated. And don't panic when you see a mycelium layer growing on top. Just mix it in. It's a beneficial fungi. At first I thought it was a bad thing, lol. Build a Soil does have premixed shit. Build a Flower Top Dress Kit.

Should I keep it mixed in an airtight container or should it be open to the air? I'm only asking because it seemslike it would stay moist longer if it were sealed.

I don't seal it. I want a little oxygen getting in. I do lightly cover it or, put a bag slightly over it like a humidity dome but I make sure fresh air can get in. When I use a bag, I put it over and make like a cave out of it, so one end is open. I just want to make sure it gets air so it doesn't go anaerobic. The more moist it is, the more often I mix it up.
