Hung it all to dry out and be turned into hash, will sift it some cold night out in the garage.

It’s a wrap! Chopped the three Dakshinkali today because I’m sure it will drop below 25 in my yard tonight and I don’t want the flowers to freeze. The latest I’ve had plants in the ground and also the latest flowering plants I’ve grown. One good thing is zero rot, maybe that’s a consequence of...

No frost blankets. Within 175 yards of the water on the South Coast - it has a bit of a moderating effect if the wind is from the west or south, but when it is from the NW it doesn’t help all that much. 28 degrees last night, probably the same tonight and I’m pretty certain they will come down...

Still at it. Made it through a 26 degree night on Saturday with moderate leaf damage but no harm to flowers. Probably coming down Sunday as Monday night is supposed to drop to mid 20s again and I’m not sure they can handle another hard frost. Not a spec of botrytis. Pretty sticky, smells range...

At various points I used B.t., Monterey Complete and Spinosad to deal with caterpillars - which came on much later than usual. Just a weird growing season.

And then there were three, hope these Dakshinkali make it through the next couple of cold nights, because the weather looks great for them to pack on the resin after that - Took down the rest of the Rasoli today, I’ll be in trim jail a couple of days with this all this to contend with… really...

Still at it, have two Rasoli and one Panjshiri still in the ground with lower halves going (took the tops down as they were close to done and I couldn’t monitor mold issues 15 or 18 feet up anyway). The Dakshinkali all need more time, like until Thanksgiving, tallest is 19 feet, holy crap...

What do you use to clone? I’ve never done it before but I’m thinking of cloning the garlic-onion plant after sampling some semi-dried trim and liking the effects a lot.

Took the Mazari that was furthest along down on Oct 4th as I was whittling away more and more each day. Will jar some today and hang the rest in the garage to wait for hash production some cold winter night. The other Mazari will need to come down soon due to septoria and will mostly be hung for...

I’ve had minor amounts of it in the past, but always when the plants started to die back as they progressed deeper into flowering. This year it hit in July, from all the rainy nasty weather.

Found several spots like this on the Mazari today after the plants dried enough to inspect. Cut out the bad stuff and hit it with peroxide. Can’t really complain as this is a couple weeks later than I usually start seeing rot, but if the peroxide doesn’t slow it down it I will have to decide how...

Took down the volunteer plant yesterday, would have liked to have gone a week or two longer but the septoria leaf spot was working its way into the sugar leaves and who wants to consume that crap. Trimmed up pretty good, pretty sticky and smells of gas and sour citrus, might get a couple oz...

Looks like a wet week ahead, too - This Mazari is the furthest along and so far has stayed rot-free, knock wood -

I had what looked like a tiny spot of rot on the unknown volunteer plant. Actually popped up a week later than I usually see botrytis. So I’m hitting everything that’s got flower clusters with 1:3 peroxide spray every couple of days. In the past it has slowed the spread to manageable levels.

Just came in from putting in a few more big poles, windy and now wet out there. Not much else to do but wait and see if anything gets dinged. Flowers look purty on the Indian Himalayas - Mazari starting to frost - Good luck to anyone in the storm’s path.

This happened already, after the bamboo support pole snapped - Fortunately the stalk was fine, put a solid wood pole in, raised her back up and she was fine with no damage -

Getting there. 4 Himalayas over 15 feet with the tallest over 17. Still have one unsexed Himalaya, if it’s a girl it’s gonna be going until Thanksgiving lol The Mazar in the last 2 pics is the furthest along and her flowers have a really nice melon scent. Going to start hitting them with a...
