Getting ready to do first grow need help.

dont have to go all crazy. just a grow tent and lights. start with dirt and buckets and forget the hydro shit, too much to learn this early on. try vegging with CFL 6500k and go either LED or HPS for flowering. nutes are tricky, gotta make sure you arent missing any nutrients so research before...

    frost and cold temperatures

lately in my area its been above freezing, literally 3-4 degree C at night. just wondering what is the lowest temp seedlings or small plants can handle without shocking them. just asking cause it seems like this year i dont got to wait till second week of june if the weather keeps going the...

    swamp growing.

they are little bastards, all the hardwood trees in that area is dead, for big trees just the evergreen are healthy and alive and other random saplings. dept of transportation and infrastructure renewal uses excavators to clear dams (they trap beavers first), buddy i know who is traffic control...

    Growing outdoors in a greenhouse

you can get away with using 6500k CFL bulbs for the first month of vegging. dont get the LED ones as they are only 5000k and the plastic blocks alot of light. rumor has it that autos like bigger pots and hate transplanting, pretty much saying that starting them off in big pots will make them...

    swamp growing.

i have a few ideas on lowering the water table aka drain the swamp lol. find a dam down stream and wreck it or divert it with picks and shovels, the one upstream is heavy duty in terms of sand and debris washed up onto it so it may be a tougher one further down if i can access it. could try...

    swamp growing.

im sure its overly wet, and i know i can dig and get water np. just wondering when it comes time for transplant if i can use logs to make flower beds and that be enough to keep the roots from rotting? all the hardwood trees are dead and only pine/spruce left.

    swamp growing.

my take so far would be a 1 year college course. if you cant haul lumber and build a green house and wire it up... well bud you best be getting into a new course.

    swamp growing.

when im done with it the place will be a no go zone. cross a knee/waist high brook only to meet a pile of deadfall and thorn vines, knotweed. the stuff i got in my backyard i use as a wall.

    swamp growing.

if i take some pics it will be with a regular digital camera for obvious reasons. its got everything nearly set up for a winter grow, im just gonna keep them on the smaller side. my only worry is using fems and get a hermie. just need some finishing touches and ill be ready for some camping...

    swamp growing.

im just sold on this location just for the fact its inaccessable, remote, clean water nearby, fairly good tree density with open patches of smaller saplings, loaded with coyotes, and clear beaver presence discourages fishing due to them eating tons of fish. it will take a real special clown to...

    swamp growing.

that doesnt help. i may as well grow in buckets on top a home made raft.

    swamp growing.

just wondering if anyone has experience guerilla growing in wetlands and marshy wooded areas. im kinda tempted by a low lying forest with many brooks and beaver dams. it drains into a lake near by but this area is really flat and the brook water is fairly deep and wide and rise during rainy...

Plants are looking sickly, not sure what to do.

those are guidelines, all nutes tell you to go light on seedlings and work your way up. i had the idea of adding a literal sprinkle pinch of borax to my mixed nute water for the garden then realized later that boron near 1 ppm will stunt and kill plants. the 2 fertilizer mixes with micro i have...

    Light burn?

thats some weird light burn. most likely calcium deficiency. i got that lots years ago. to this day i trust using calcium carbonate neutralized with citric acid or vinegar than cal-mag. cal-mag i got smells like acid.

Plants are looking sickly, not sure what to do.

they dont look too bad. just a imbalance of nutes. not dark green to the point of leaf death. could try different fertilizer. my trick is doing a hard reset. give a good flush with water and a final flush with some peroxide added so the roots wont rot.

    what is that leave problem?

als upload a pic of the leaf tips.

    what is that leave problem?

is it peat moss potting soil or just pure peat? stuff i have has lime added so it may not be calcium deficiency, usually a bit more yellowing but plants that size tend to start getting deficient. does your fertilizer have calcium and magnesium? im not big on brand names.

    What did you accomplish today?

responded to diesel fuel spill today. directing traffic and dont know exact amount but it was bit bigger than a standard furnace oil tank. anyways... its a huge racket and if you ever have a oil spill at home dont report it. pretty bad that an oil furnace tech will tell you to go out and get 6...

    mag deficiency?

i dont know anything about fertilizer brands. the brand i got now is green planet and some out in my shed that i got off friend last summer (no idea brand) but its professional grade large litre bottle size. look at the ingredients, everyone knows NPK for primary but you also need secondary and...

Should the soil be sterilized before growing cannabis?

i always mix sand into my soil. decent drainage and disperses water evenly. i started a few vines and some garlic into peat moss potting soil and after a heavy watering there is still dry spots throughout it, pretty much too lazy to go harvest some off the beach. also recommend washing and...
