California Attorney General Race - It's not over yet!

There's a 30-day "grace" period following the actual elections to count absentee and mailed votes, etc. The absolute final results should be in by early December at the latest. Whomever wins will take office in January IIRC.

    Vote no on prop 19!

Technically... there is. And funny enough, it's the same way that Alcohol Prohibition was ended. State conventions were used to ratify the 21st Amendment, primarily because of the fear of overly convoluted politics at the state legislature level. This is why I keep saying that those people in...

Californians Are The Dumbest People In The World!!!!!!!

If Ohioans want legalization, then Ohioans should lobby for legalization in their state. If you aren't willing to fight for your rights, you don't deserve them.

Moving on. Unite for Legalization it in 2012!

The measure only lost by about 5%. I'm willing to bet that if all or most of the cannabis users had sided together instead of being divided, it probably would have passed. Which, in my opinion, puts us in a sweet position for some real possibilities in a presidential election year.

California Attorney General Race - It's not over yet!

Because some people can't move on. Glad you aren't one of them, Dan.

Moving on. Unite for Legalization it in 2012!

I'm fairly certain we can't submit legislation or start gathering signatures until the year of the election, but you are right in that it's time to get all sides at the same table to write effective policy. I expect that numerous groups will probably start in good faith over the next few weeks...

    Prop 19 didn't pass!

Or... you can get over and get on to the work of making 2012 the year we come up with a legalization effort that we can all support. Even most proponents agreed that Prop. 19 wasn't perfect. Hell, some even admitted it was badly written, but were willing to accept it as something instead of...

    Prop 19 didn't pass!

 Cheers indeed. I don't mind the vigorous debate at all. In fact, you've been one of the few reasonable proponents throughout this process. I agree we all want an end to the prohibition, but there's still a lot of leeway in what way that end will come. Like I said earlier... this...

Indeed... roughly 15,000 votes saved our collective butts.

    Prop 19 didn't pass!

OK... can't make it. 93.8% reported in and 46.2% v. 45.5%. I seriously hope Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties don't screw things up. GL everyone.

Steve Cooley - Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid

And we can all get back to the task of writing effective legislation. Look at it this way... You almost got a bill passed that even you admitted had major flaws and was inadequate in it's language. We have two years to reconcile the issues of that bill and/or work on getting CCCHI more...

0218: BINGO! 46.1% at 86% reporting! Good day.... bongsmilie 0223: Harris maintaining a lead of 37,000+ votes with 88.7% reporting in.... I feel like I used to when I would go bowling as a kid. I keep feeling the urge to wave at the numbers much like I used to wave futilely at the ball to...

Steve Cooley - Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid

Bloody hell... it's down to a difference of about 60,000 votes that's going to put this dodgy cunt in office as of 0200 on Nov. 3. Here's hoping the last 20% to report in gives Harris the 1%+ to complete (or remedy, depending on your perspective on Prop. 19) this eventful day.

Cooley is a problem regardless of the outcome of Prop. 19.

    Prop 19 Official Results Thread

Cooley being elected to office has nothing to do with Prop. 19. He is a disaster regardless of whether Prop. 19 had passed or not.
