Heat stress bro. I keep my 600w 8-10 in above canopy and no problem in my 2x4' closet. Just get a thermometer, tie a string and hang it down your light to top of your canopy. Check the temp during on times and move light up if it's too hot, down if not hot enough. I keep mine around 78-82...
