Get only "warm white" - 2700k. I got a few 4000K, they have less number of diodes so they run a bit hotter. Also 2700k is better for flowering. The bulbs are not dimmable so they wokr at 100% so they get hot. It is not an issue for me but keep that in mind when you plan your setup.

DIY 13w Philips bulbs panel - is it worth it?

I did it. I got 1 plant 10 days into flower 2 gal fabric pot just moved in the box yesterday. Mounted 6 x 2700k + 3 x 4000k on the ceiling, as high as possible. I used ceramic sockets and they do take off some of the heat. I think the bulb housing material is aluminium, not thermoplastic. Also...

Is it worth to grow tomatoes?

Im going to try the old guys seeds from the fruits I have because they are some old-school nonGMO sort . I hope they are indeterminate, because I prefer to harvest perpetually, at least that's what I think right now. Now, I have never grown tomatoes outdoors. I would like to know if the yield is...

Is it worth to grow tomatoes?

There is this old guy 70 - 80 years, that my wife buys tomatoes (also chickens, eggs and other stuff) from. I cannot express with words how much better they taste compared to any store bought tomatoes. It is so good, that I'm thinking about putting a plant in a 4x4 tent and produce during...

DIY 13w Philips bulbs panel - is it worth it?

Bump. I'm interested. I'm thinking about doing something similar. Actually I already ordered some Osram 13w 1521 lumen bulbs on really good discount. Already painted white a small cabinet 1.35 x 1.35 x 2.65 feet. Gonna put a big air sucker ontop to pull the heat from 9 of these bulbs. I have...

Samsung build - Something's wrong.. plz help

Solved it! It was a grounding issue as Beehive assumed. I had used a M5 instead of M4 washer under one of the screws and I guess its big enough and I screwed it tight enough to bite into the board and one of its connections that runs aroundll the edge. Good thing that these drivers have all...

Samsung build - Something's wrong.. plz help

So I finaly had the time to build an aluminium heatsink/frame for the strips I got awhile back. I have tested them a few times Ive tested the dimming and everything. It was all fine until today when I disassembled the thing to put some heatsink silicone paste between the strips and the...

    Anyone tried these - TRON strips 166-182 lum/W from TME.eu ??

I'm not an expert in electronics but I do have some knowledge. My concern is - the different chips 2700k and 5000k probably have slightly different resistance (ohm) which if true would cause the Chanel with slightly less resistance take more current, heat up more than the other and cause...

    Anyone tried these - TRON strips 166-182 lum/W from TME.eu ??

Yo, dude @ilovereggae , I'm starting to lean towards the Bridgelux dual spec strips too, maybe 10 of these: https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/bridgelux/BXEB-TL-L0560Z-2750E2000-A-C3/13181796 One thing I don't get - Do I have to use 2 separate drivers, 1 for each spectrum?

    Eazy Plug "air pruning" medium??

Bump. I want to try a SOG style in ebb & flow - many short single colas. I could do it with Coco and small but this Eazy Plug system would be easier and cleaner I think. The other option would be small 1l AirPots but I might have To cut them even smaller in order to keep the plants roots small.

    Eazy Plug "air pruning" medium??

Has anyone used this system? Found it being sold online at an indoor growing eshop that basically sells only cannabis growing gear. It could be perfect for growing many small plants like a SOG setup but with ebb &flow irrigation if the Easy Blocks are used ( the mid sized ones 3 X 3 X 2.5...

    Anyone tried these - TRON strips 166-182 lum/W from TME.eu ??

There's a thread on 90 Vs 80 with some very detailed info. Check it out if you haven't. Didn't read the whole thing (since I'm a lvl1 grower, that's more like lvl 20 grower material) but what I take from it is 2700k 98 cri should put out a bit more red than 2700k 80cri...

    Anyone tried these - TRON strips 166-182 lum/W from TME.eu ??

Sounds sweet. 2700k instead of 3000k plus u can play with the blue/red ratio all you want. But is 98 cri really worth it? I thought 80cri is better for plants. You get more red with higher cri, right? Cant you just compensate that by adding more red lights/2700k?

Has anyone used this system? Found it being sold online at an indoor growing eshop that basically sells only cannabis growing gear. Anyone tried these - TRON strips 166-182 lum/W from TME.eu ??

Wow thanks!! I guess that problem is solved. (: Dude, this is exactly what I was looking for!! Budget is not an issue, but at this price.... dude..... $0.33 vs $2.67 / 1000lum ... HOW can I NOT give them a try since I'm 1 lvl total noob in building and using LEDs. Thats perfect! But...

    Anyone tried these - TRON strips 166-182 lum/W from TME.eu ??

It is in the documentation of the TRONs, that the dual spectrum board (double the amount of diodes per board) can only support the power for 1 channel at a time. Would it be possible to run both channels at the same time if the strip is kept cool enough, meaning its mounted on a big enough...

    Anyone tried these - TRON strips 166-182 lum/W from TME.eu ??

$2.50 thats really low. Arrow, Digikey, they ship from US right? I'm in EU and would like to avoid customs and so far haven't found a place where to buy Samsung or Bridgelux strips in EU only COBs . Just came across the TRONs as an option. At this price even using 2x 3x more pieces it's still...
