Indeed, but it's not even really in the same classification of power supplies. It's certainly not comparable to the Phillips driver posted above.

    Phillips drivers

If you talked to lighting industry people they probably prefer Phillip's over meanwell. In fact, meanwell probably isn't even in close second to being best driver. Meanwell hlg is good driver at good price, that's why you see so many of them.

Why do people say Calsium & Magnesium is `required` for LED -grows ?

Figure if you were going to bump 7 year old thread that you would at least point out the calcium and magnesium are both macronutrients, not micronutrients. The rest should fall into place.

    SOG From Seed

It's generally not about plant going herm, the issue is that regardless of light schedule your plants won't flower until they are mature. As to where clones are already mature.

    COB CXB3590s aren't turning on

The information given by other members is accurate, but probably not the reason your light isn't turning on. Even if you were in slight overvoltage condition the meanwell hlg series cc will just regulate output current. My cxb's run under 35v at 1520ma. I would think pretty good chance you will...

    2018 light efficiency ultimate battle

You’re still clueless lmao! More efficient would mean more work on the same amount of energy. Or the same amount of work on less energy. Not more energy = more work. Jfc, how dense are you?! Not sure why I went though the effort, but I copied this from dictionary.com for you. the ratio of...

    2018 light efficiency ultimate battle

I was just pointing out that your analogy was shit. It doesn’t matter how hard a ball is thrown or how far it goes as both are units of work, not energy. I have hid lights and led lights, and made no comment on either. I was simply pointing out that you may want to pull your head out of your...

    2018 light efficiency ultimate battle

Ha, my sixth grade science teacher told me watts= E*I. Same guy told me feet per second is a measure of speed and/or velocity. Outside of that kind energy being converted it has nothing to with electrical energy or light. A watt is nothing more than a unit of energy consumption, and makes no...

Hacking a Mars 300 with cobs

Probably. If it were the same exact driver would likely be a better candidate for eb gen 2. The strength of the f series is holding performance at higher current. You can usually score the eb gen 2 at about half the price, since current is already determined I think you’d get a little more for...

Hacking a Mars 300 with cobs

Anything like 3000-3500k 80cri or even 3000k-4000k 90cri would all work fine for that. Even 4000k 80cri will flower ok, it’s just probably not as ideal as the others. For upgrading a blurple panel like that any of them that you can do reasonable job of filling driver is going to be a...

Hacking a Mars 300 with cobs

That’s the route I would go then on a budget. You could also check out some vero 18’s. I think arrow electronics carries them and has 15% off code right now. Probably similar price. Do you plan on using from seed to harvest? Send him message through the website and ask what he has that will...

Hacking a Mars 300 with cobs

They’re usually 12v, but there’s probably a label on them to be sure. You can still run two 36v cobs though. Most are going to have forward voltage around 34-35v at that current. You really want to run cxb’s? For a light hack at that current, I’d see if @CobKits still has some of those gen 5...

Hacking a Mars 300 with cobs

Do the drivers have fans in series with leds? If they do, you can use pretty much anything. 1 of any of the 50-72v cobs per driver. Or two of any of the 36v cobs per driver. If it has separate supply for fans, you’d have to scratch the 50v models.

    36xLuminus CXM22 CRI90 or 16xSamsung LM301B Quantum Boards

Funniest stuff I’ve read in a while. I’m perfectly comfortable in what I know, and don’t need to show anyone. I didn’t put words in your mouth. If both leds are 2.3 umol/joule at their given current they are the the equally efficient lol. I refrained from using the big red crayon twice, but...

    36xLuminus CXM22 CRI90 or 16xSamsung LM301B Quantum Boards

Clearly one of us is about to learn something, so we’ll see about that wasted time. What would a difference in efficiency be or mean if the photon efficacy is the same? Provided voltage and current are measured on the dc side to remove any difference in driver efficiency. Four 12.5 watt light...

Huh? Maybe read my response again and it will make more sense. I’ll give you a hint, there’s something I typed in there to level the playing field.

    36xLuminus CXM22 CRI90 or 16xSamsung LM301B Quantum Boards

I’m not sure what a lumen or 100,000 of them have to do with anything? I’m not aware of meter even capable of measuring a spot that small, let alone any of the products we use or mentioned in thread capable of doing so. So hypothetically you’re correct, but that’s the worst example you could...
