is that cs2 worth dl'ing too?? or anything on top of photoshop from that link?? thanks for the links.. :D
Adobe Creative Suite includes Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign (desktop publishing) and various other tools. The primary tools are also available on their own as you can see from the Adobe download page. I got the bandwidth, so I grabbed the whole CS plus the SNs - never know if Adbobe will pull this page anytime soon.

This is relatively old - CS2, while CS6 is the latest. But CS6 is just too expensive for a hobby unless you qualify for a student discount or don't have to work for a living and are rich enough to only have expensive hobbies.

I've been stuck with an ancient PS 7.0, and I just haven't gotten used to PSP.

Paintshop and all the knockoff's are ok to use in a pinch.. but Photoshop is the standard all the other companies try to replicate and use similar commands as PS.

I started with PS 4.0 and self taught myself from then on.. I dont think there really is such a person as an Expert Photoshoper since the program is just so massive to learn.

if your not familiar with actions they are a set of steps that produce a certain well action like cropping or resizing or batch runs or pretty much anything you do repetitively like color to bw. You run the action on the photo and the steps are set up for you..

Like I said, I bought PSP on the last sale. It seems a decent piece of software and I would probably recommend it if you can't afford Adobe.

I might have used 4.0 - definitely 5.0. So that's 14 years or so. I've always been a casual, infrequent user. I've had more than one job where I had PS and had need to use it, although I wasn't any sort of graphics artist, etc. One job was the last couple of years, and we had CS5. But I got promoted and don't have access or need any more. I do still use it at home, although my ancient PS 7.0 is a bit quirky on my 64-bit Windows machines. That's why I bought PSP.

Now I'm far from an expert, but after all those years, it is hard to adapt to the subtle (and not) differences of a PS-like application. When I got that last job and had to use CS5 for the first time, I had no problem coming from PS7.

So, great find on the free older Adobe Creative Suite!

PS2 is not free. Its only free to download you must still obtain/buy a license key.

Don't kick aside "Gimp" its just as powerful as Photoshop, you just need to know how to use it. I am a Linux/Ubuntu user, I could run Photoshop under wine but I just can't find a reason.

If you have the money a Canon Rebel T3 or T3i are good. T3i if you wanna do 1080p video from what I've heard that they do 1080p video. I have the T3 and I see alot of people using the T3 when going to car shows and such and I find people tend to get out of my way when I am taking a photo.
