That’s what I was thinking while reading it. It’s crazy how much if the planet we can’t easily get to where things like this could still be hidden.
I think they found it a couple three years ago, but kept it quiet until they had a chance to do some research. It looks like it will be open to the public. Since it's been exposed all this time, having folks come look at it won't cause damage like with cave paintings.
They used drones to record it. But huge props to the dudes that weaved gravevines together and climbed up there to do the paintings. I heard the story on the BBC radio show, and they said when it was painted, the rain forest was just getting going. Most likely the paintings could be seen from the ground then.
