I’m looking for advice here. Moving into a bigger space, and new environment. I’ve only ever grown in basements and now am taking on a project that I want to get dialed in first run.

so about 630 sqft. 17 x 37

the ceiling in this room is 20 ft. It it’s sealed off with plastic at about 12ft. Could be adjusted lower

we have a 36000 btu mini split ac/heater combo
Endless option for fans and ventilation.
Commercial dehu- not sure the size
Co2 equipment ready to install- controllers with fuzzy logic
Plus tons of random stuff. Window shakers - more residential style dehu- heaters et

lights. We have misc lights. 2 hlg 600 w. 2 hlg 660 w.1 Gavita 1700 1 photo bio Mx(680w)
2better option grow station 660 watt
Plus dozens of 1000 w hps single ended with giant reflectors Are available from my math we have space for about 12 lights or so total.
Was thinking about every other space led-hps.
Also was thinking all led -just have to purchase a few more.

goals:
1 yield.
2 efficiency
3 Ease of working the space.

medium will be living soil. Some raised beds mostly 7-15 gallon pots.

water is well water. I haveRO and standard 2 stage carbon sediment filter.

so all advice is welcome on any subject here except for medium really.

what’s the best situation. Sealed room, full co2 supplement?
Semi sealed room with positive pressure from outside? Negative pressure?

Any advice on light placement, fan placement.

thinking single harvest but not opposed to a perpetual style Rotation.

Well I guess that covers the basics. Also not apposed to splitting the space up if needed or would be helpful.

If you want one big flower room you'll need about 30k watts hps and 10 tons of AC...just the lights will need 150 amps of power. Should I keep going?
Yes please. Trying to formulate a plan with any advice I can get here. So I have about 300 sq Ft of actual canopy 50 w per ft is what I always thought for hps. And led closer to 30 w.
This sound right to you?
I have a basic lighting calculator I’ve been working with. I’m more concerned about the environment.

The nice thing about LED growing is the lack of infrared (IR) spectrum. The IR heats up surfaces it hits, so HPS really warms up the leaves. With LED you actually require warmer air temperatures to achieve optimal leaf surface temps. So if you were targeting say 79F with HPS you would be aiming for more like 85F with LED. This combined with the less watts used makes it a lot easier on the AC unit.

With LED you can take the wattage X 3.4 to get a good idea of the BTU/hr the light will put into the room. HPS is a little more complex due to the IR, as a rule folks are using more like 5000 - 5500 BTU/hr per 1kW HPS.

5 to 5500 btu is a bit much. Maybe if you live somewhere tropical. Here in Toronto 4btu/watt is plenty.
