We had folks over on the 1st, and the cleaning leading up to it turned up about 7 or 8 seed catalogs. It was mostly two from several years. I only saved the ones for 2020. Recycled the rest.

Hell no! I'm not signing up to receive anymore catalogs! "I have another browser window open doing just that right now".

Thanks for the list. Now I'l have even more catalogs with pictures of things I want to grow but can't because of lack of room or incompatible climate.

The wife ask me today if I knew it was Raab brocolli I had planted down at the river house, not brocillini. I said "yes, we had looked for brocillini seeds and couldn't find them." She says, "they are on Amazon. With free shipping." Looks like I'll be buying off Amazon. But I'm happy with the Armenian cucumber seeds I got from there.

Be careful with some of those seeds on Amazon. A few years back I bought what was supposed to be an extra large beefsteak tomato variety and they turned out to be just plain Roma's. The seeds came from China. After further research I found that there are quite a few sellers selling seeds that are not what they claim.

So far all I've bought was the Armenian cukes. 16 bucks for a quarter pound of seeds. Should last me for many years. I did check the comments before buying, and the seeds turned out good.

My wife told me she did order the broccolini seeds from Amazon when she ordered the extras for her instant pot. All that stuff came this week, but she didn't put the seeds on my desk. I'll have to remember to ask her about them.

So broccolini is a cross of traditional broccoli and Chinese broccoli "Gai Lan". Gai Lan is delicious in it's own right. I love the bitterness it has. Maybe you know what the difference between broccolini and broccolo is. I'm thinking of getting some of the broccolo seeds from Seeds of Italy. But i've researched it and can't seem to be able to find any difference. Some historians trace pasta back to the Chinese which is disputed by some. But perhaps Gai Lan was brought to Italy many many years ago from China. Regardless, both broccolini and broccolo appear to be very similar. I think I'm going to get some. It says it's fast growing and good for cool climates so I'm going to give it a try. I also have my eye on a dozen or so other things in the catalog but I have no room to grow them. :(

When I grew the brocccolini a few years back, the heads grew along the stalks. More wispy than normal broccoli.

Hell with the books people better get ordering now for spring, most everything i just ordered are on back order everything sold out dont wait this yr folks.
