Funny you should mention that. It's still getting cool at night, so I have a humidifier in there to keep the RH at a respectable level. Around 45% is all I can manage. But I've been adding epson salt to the water just to see what happens. No idear if it's working or not though.
Epsom salts have a high S content which is vital for resin production :) I use them thru the whole of flowering at a low rate of 1/2tsp per gallon

I may have to try again or decide to pull out of this contest. Bad juju, the only one that made it was this GG4 auto that was not for the contest. The replacement seed just did not make it. I could do one more but idk.

Probably will since the coco is ready. Damn it will be cutting it close though.

What seems to be a problem?

Seeds are a year old maybe longer. The first one dried out and cut its own tap root with the seed shell when paper towel should stay wet.

The replacement bean helmet headed possibly because I opened towel to take out a ready seedling and left the towel open but in a covered bowl for few hrs.

So it did not have that double sided wet towel around it to push its own shell off.

Cotyledons dried and had that startchy pasta look along with helmet head with half of seed on, but it peeled right off but took a chunk of the cotyledon. Just dead on arrival.

Sucks, this is normally the easiest part of it all but as you can see the GG4 auto grew just as should, day seven, ready for final container.

Damn thats a lot of issues.
I recommend using root riot plugs, works 100% everytime and with cuttings maybe 90%.

I normally get 90-100 success rate but for some reason I got bad juju with germinating seedlings right now. Perhaps the dehuey at 35% rh and 85F temps are drying the towel out within hours or seeds aged fast in poor storing conditions etc.

I like this method so I can pull the wet towel open, the wetter the better so it doesn’t stick, so I can see what the condition of seeds are if they don’t pop in 3-5 days as should.

I feel like the minute it hits light and enough air, it helmet heads if it wasn’t ready for it.

I usually have thhe same success rate too. It's because of the contest. Someone among us is a witch, and probably put a hex on some of the participants, including us. I also was widdled down to a helmet head runt, and one decent plant that was from a bag seed. At least they both have female parts though (for now), and so might yours. Lost some expensive, and rare irreplaceable seeds going all out in the beginning too, lol. Curses!

Either that, or I talked too much smack in the beginning, like I'm some kinda solo cup wizard. The universe responded in mysterious ways by being like.. "oh heck no, this is all you get to work with!".
You are like reading my mind, that was pretty much what I was thinking and about to say but didn’t haha. Not even kidding. Edit: I popped one more. It should work this time because 3rd time is a charm.

This is going to be tough to beat even if I already won.
Don't worry, I still have plenty of time to fuck it all up. I walked in this morning to the first flood using this system. My condensate pump failed (the float got stuck), and it overflowed. It wasn't too bad, maybe a gallon of water on the floor of the tent which I sucked up with a bucket lid vac. I gave the condensate pump a little shake, and it's back in business, but likely needs a good cleaning so it doesn't get stuck again.
