Here’s my res, the 1” pipe dipped in feeds the pump, you can see I just circulate the chiller into the res. The other pipe is just left over from the air stone setup but I have a pinhole in it spraying so I can make sure the pump is working, my pump is in the grow room. Green hose and pump is my service pump for draining.

Oh nice. To drain mine i out a T coming out of the chiller before the res and a valve. I close the valve to the chiller and open a valve to the drain pipe.

now you are making me miss my rdwc setup!!!!! it was fun to grow like that: like running full speed ahead all the time.
Ahh well this was my first time and I wish I did it sooner, few hiccups but for the most part I had nothing to do, add backs and maybe some ph up every 2 or 3 weeks. I’m itching to go again, just waiting on my backup co2 tank so I can take them to get filled and one needs recertification.

Do you use co2 in veg and flowe or only flower? I find veg is short anyway and I keep co2 off. I turned it on when I started seeing buds forming at week 2.

Just setting it up, never used prior because I always ran vented, I scrubbed air directly outside. Plan on using veg flower, not transition or late flower but I’m still doing some reading on the subject too.

I run vented too. I overheat with it off so I have the tubes right in the Scrog net and lots of fans to blow it around and very slow release with a fish tank bubble counter, about 30 bubbles a second. Co2 is heavy and I suck out of the top so I am hoping it goets to move around in there and absorbed mostly before any gets sucked out. I have no idea if its working really. I have nothing to compare it to but I am guessing most will be since the release is right in the plant and very slow. Its gotta go through the whole plant before going up and out.

i've tried but my room is not sealed by any means. more as supplementing from above like a spray every hour.. i think just sucking in fresh cool CO air is just as good and i don't need to cool my room otherwise. still on the fence about co2

I have 2 outputs one right in each plant. I was thinking of connecting together and have the tube go through the whole plant with pinholes. Thats for next grow. Again I'm not sure if I am just wasting it but I really doubt it.

do you buy bottles? it's cheap enough around here for me to mess with it and not care too much about cost

I was on the fence, it’s honestly a pain in the ass but I figured if I vent 60% rh air into -20 air it will look like a power plant coming out of the 8” pipe lol. I went with a simple co2 controller with monitor and 2 20lb tanks. I’m still working on sealing, ac and the rain system, have a goal set to crack some seeds around month end. I will have my backup vents ready if I fail or can’t keep heat in check, I veg under a 1k de and flowered under 1600 watts.

Damn, I have a small 5lb tank haha. It was for my fish tank. I stole it for weed. I am about to post the pics of my grow in a new topic, can you give me an honest opinion about it? I think it is fantastic, best I ever grew, but that is not saying much, I only have a few under my belt.

No I have a cylinder I refill, it is not expensive really I just don't like to waste it, it is also in my bedroom, id rather not die in my sleep!
With a couple people sleeping in a closed door room, co2 levels are prob pretty decent for the plants really. We breath around 400, 800 plus can happen overnight. But yeah, I wouldn’t recommend using co2 where you sleep lol.

Yeah it is very slow release and also on a controller set to 900, way below dangerous levels :) It is in the attached bathrooms walk in closet, its not right beside me either. :)

Thought I'd post a pick of my next step in my build since I just came across this thread. Yup..almost time to install these into each control bucket for my rdwc gardens. This is definitely the way to go; No yuck in the chiller, less chillers, and less electricity. (3 chillers instead of 6)

I'm planning on doing the same. Where did you get the stainless steel wort coils, what size and how much are they?
