480 or 600w bar led for a 4'x4'?

Hi everybody.
I just got a 4x4 tent and was wondering if a 480w led is enough for it or do I need more power like a 600?

I don't want to spend the money on a 600w if I'm only going to ever run it @ 80% but I don't want to get a 480w and find out I should have gotten a more powerful light.

Can someone help and maybe give me some ideas of what light would be a good fit?

You can get by with 500 watts in there. More watts is not always better I found out. But something cool to remember is you can get Higher watt fixtures and just dial them down. I would get a nice bar style led.

You will be just fine with 480w. 600w will last you longer and help you control temps better though. Just a trade off you make for cost.

If you can afford it, go with the 600w.
I'm trying to find something around $600 if that helps

Buy the biggest. It dims. When you get a bigger tent you'll be glad.

I promise I don’t work for them

other people mentioned discount codes but I don’t know for this exact light. I liked my ez 8 I got from them. you could get this and just turn it down. Outside of USA price is silly though.

That's nice looking for $599

600-650w is the sweat spot for 4x4….I’d get the 600w…..I run 600w on each side of my 4x8 and it fills it perfectly with 700-1000ppfd….a 450w light is not strong enough to light up a 4x4 space with the ideal amount of par (700-1000ppfd)….anything under 600-650ppfd is a waste of time and effort, anything over 1000ppfd without co2 is going to hurt your end yeild and quolity

yep, I regret not doubling my light budget last year - I'm a glutton for punishment
scrape and scrounge to cough up the extra cash for the 600W and you won't regret it
Its like building a car. If you want performance everything is built around the drivetrain. Biggest engine you can afford. You just keep a light foot on the pedal. Or you can build a smaller weaker one and keep your foot in it. I prefer the first route. Better to have it and not need it than it is to want it and not have it.

These are being advertised in my area. Price seems fair but don't know anyone who is using it.

I’d stay away from any light your going to use in a 4x4 space that has less than 8 bars…..for two reasons …..reason number one as far as even light coverage and even par throughout the canopy, it’s going to be absolute trash that’s probably why they don’t have a par map listed….. reason number 2 is. Less bars mean last diode‘s which means you’re gonna cook the shit out of those diode‘s faster than you would if there were two more bars….just my 2c
