Especially when inexpensive sensors can act up. I'm using a "watchmen" to monitor ... This is a screenshot from the touchscreen I built for the tent.
Hi Tint!

This is super cool. I want to build a similar thing. I have the skills and would be grateful to pointed to the best of class (e.g. easiest to integrate and use) components for composing such a system. Can you or others recommend a few threads to read about automation and sensors?

Many thanks!

Short veg cycles don’t produce larger yields. You wind up with smaller plants that produce less yield. Growers do a short veg cycles with SOG so they can squeeze as many plants in as possible and reduce the total amount of time from seed to harvest. You can get the same yield with less plants that are kept in veg longer.
I’m doing a run in 6x6 70 gallon RDWC right now, 3 variations of critical, 4 good plants and a few fillers. I did little over 60 days of veg, I’m not new but this is my first hydro run however. I do anticipate good results and I just flipped. I’m interested to see how the OP makes out as well as myself.

The system I’m using (Crestron) would be too expensive for most people to use for something like this, because the software used to program it isn’t available to the public, and the hardware is very expensive. Even if you bought the processor and touchscreen used, on eBay, it would cost you around $500-$600 just for those two pieces. It’s only affordable for me, because I get hardware for cheap or free when clients upgrade their systems, and I program the system myself. You could do what I’m doing for a lot less money with Arduino, or Raspberry Pi, but I don’t have any experience with those systems.

I am curious too on the yields. whats cool is that this will be temporary because we are moving to a new house so there will be a bigger shed , 10 x 10 an that will be built for more permanent use. So gives me a lil idea

Sorry about the delayed update but yeah 2 more days and ill be done I got all the sheets of plywood cut for the inside and just need to prime them and put screw it all in. Then the other lil platform is the additional room thats 4 long and 4 wide. This room will be for utility and storage or if I need to work on the plant. The main structure is 39 inches wide . 6 foot tall and 8 foot long. Width wise its enough for a big plant maybe a lil small but it should work. and length/height wise I should be good with an indica , scrog and topping. I also may change my hydroponics into living soil I started looking into it and one im all excited and researching all about it and I learned a lot. Its not only very efficient when you get it going but the plant get what it wants as opposed to force feeding. Granted the grow time is slower but the money you save by using the same soil is another pro compared to traditional soil or hydro. So any tips on that would great be appreciated remember I want to grow pound plants. so 3 of them. do you think itll fit in that space I have??? Be critical and blunt its ok I want to learn and im not sensitive so let me hear your advice thank you guys and ill keep you updated.

Got the roof in , the side walls with mylar material, completely sealed inside an from the outside. Now I just need to cut the sheets of plywood for the siding for the small 4 x 4 attachment room an attach them to the framing an ill be done. Hopefully by this weekend. I'm gonna order the seeds soon some critical kush or Northern lights. Any recommendations on strong indicators with high yields in going for 3lbs in this space (7.5ft long x 3 ft wide x 6 feet tall) got 1000 watts in led light 3000k ,all 1k watts of those lights have IR an only 600 watts have the LG uv light which I read may or may not increase resin production so ill see because I'll grow all 1 strain an have the UV lights next to each other an the other 2 lights covering another plant to see if there is a difference.
