Been planning on a new light for a 4x4 tent done some cob builds but first strip build. Ive been thinking of using 10 f series strips with 2 HLG-320H-C1400B will this work? Anyone have a better ideas on a driver a arrangement without an arm and a leg? Thanks for reading in!

Only change you should make is using CV drivers over CC. Parallel wiring is much better on strip builds because there's enough of them to where thermal runaway isn't an issue. Even if 1 strip just totally blew up for no reason, or disconnected, the remaining 9 could easily handle the current it was taking to be split amongst them. Not to mention avoiding over 300V DC. No good

Thanks for the thought! So im looking for two of these and the lights run parallel.

Yup. I'd grab "A" version though just so you can dial the voltage down yourself exactly where you want.

I use the double row 44" F-strips.
That's a qb worth of diodes in each strip, so they throw out a lot of photons.

How many would you put over a 4x4? Is 10 worth the investment? I figure 6 would do it but digikey discounts them at 10 and would keep light temps down to spread the amps.

Just use 20 of the 4' EB Gen3s if you were gonna put that much money Into your strips. 10 $ series is what, like $400?

I just pulled the trigger on the fs. It was 350. 70 dollar difference. Figured if im desperate for a separate lights some day could pull 4 off and throw em on a another driver. But will have a bad ass light for now. I really appreciate all your grear advice.

Would you buy the heatsink usa heatsinks or any other good options?

I use the FB24B in 3000k as flowering boosters. There are 4 of them running on a 320 w 48v driver in parallel. At max output, they will run at 300 watts, so they are currently only at 75w/strip.
I use a simple aluminum strip 2" wide, 45" long and 0.125" thick(sourced it from a local welding supply) as a sink and a stiffener for mounting.

Even running them at test current and above(I had an emergency work-around that had a pair of the FB24B's on a 240 watt driver), they won't get above 50degC.
If you run either a pair of 240w drivers or a single 480w driver with 4 strips and the simple construction I've used, it'll crush a 4x4.

So ive gone pretty hard ive got ten of the double strip 3500 k coming and two 320 watt drivers. So if running at 300 per driver each led will be at 60 watts. So with any aluminum channel will my ambient temps in the tent stay reasonably low?

What do you mean a stiffener??
