wth are you from? i've never heard anyone but the local hillbillies say you'ns...
y'all is for a small group, from 2 to maybe 6 or 8...anything over that is you'ns
"Ya'll" can be a number of people over 2 and up to an unlimited number of people. (ie. PadawanWarrior just referred to "ya'll").. this could be everyone in this thread, or everyone on RIU. "You'ns" ... yeah, that's just stupid.

it's a regional thing, i didn't think it up, and only use it when i go visitin in the hollers....no idea why they thought y'all was insufficient for a larger crowd

Ya'll come back now ya hear.
Geetyet? (Have you eaten already).. another famous southern saying. I must say I don't really speak like this even living in OK.. I was raised in the Middle East, (American born in OK, moved to the Mid East at 11 years old) and moved back here in 1985, but I still can't speak the lingo... I can understand it, but I sound more like im from Coloradoish. I was raised around mostly British, and went to Private School with 32 other Nationalities... BUT!.. living back here has brought out some redneck shit in me. I like guns, explosives, power tools, tractors, large fires, etc.

no one around here talks like that at all, except a few very inbred holdout families that live way back in the hollers...but they did when i was a kid...and geetyet is fucking jeff foxworthy...not a real hillbilly, no matter what his press release says, he was a computer mainframe maintenance worker for 5 years before he started doing standup seriously in the 80s...you might be a redneck if you work for IMB...or you might just be pretending...
some real shit i do hear around here is...gwanna = going to... ovair = over there... i moana or i munna = i'm going to... n'em= and them...
around here lunch and dinner are the same thing, and supper is what you eat in the evening...and if someone asks you to "carry me to the pig"...that means they want a ride to the grocery store...even though there hasn't been a piggly wiggly around here since i was a kid.
little local color...way the fuck before there was walmart, we had Cas Walkers...Cas was a local entrepreneur, crazy as ten bedbugs...he owned 27 stores across the state, that were pretty much walmart before the Sam Walton ever thought about it. he had a radio show, and later a tv show, and helped launch the careers of both dolly parton and the everly brothers, but his favorite thing to do on air was rant and rave about shit that pissed him off...
watch this to see just how fucking crazy we are here....

Then there's the infamous "All a Ya'll"... this is a larger crowd, and it's number cannot be determined, nor should it.
there's no a...it's all y'all, leastwise, rouncheer it is
and that has nothing to do with how many people you're addressing, it's just a way to ask if everyone wants to do something...do all y'all wanna eat rot now?...
