A solid general-use timer

Just wanted to give a shoutout to a solid timer I've been using for a few years now. Programmable down to the second, unlike most timers which are minute/15-minute intervals. 8 on/off intervals available. Only drawback is that it has a green and red light for on/off, so you gotta put some electrical tape over the lights to make it flower room safe. No affiliations at all, I'm just some grower and this is just some timer. It's useful that we share products/methods that we have actual experience with, rather than 'things we heard at the grow store'. Good timers aren't hard to come by, but I figured I'd share nonetheless. Cheers.

It's called the "ACDT-20 Weekly Digital Timer--Minimum On-Off time 1 Second" at a site called "superfeederstore". I guess they specialize in pet feeders.

The Nearpow timer, if it malfunctioned while in on mode would it be stuck on or would the circuit break?

I'm looking to upgrade my timers from mechanical. What I don't like besides the lack of accuracy is that if the mechanical timer breaks while on it's permanently on and can ruin a crop. So if the Nearpow timer would power down on failure it would be perfect.

I just had a bn link mechanical timer break after 2 weeks, I'll try one of these nearpow ones.

I use an Intermatic HB880R, 7 day programmable, outdoor light timer.

Rated at 15amps. Been using the same one for years. Battery back up so if the power goes out. It doesn't miss a beat.

I got two of these a few months ago and just last night they both decided on their own to change their time by 10 hours causing my flower room to run like 18 hours straight before I saw what they did. I also have two of their old style that don't have all the fancy sunset, sunrise, dst, astro time and they've worked solid for many years. It's these new ones with features that seem to suck for me now.

It's definitely overkill on the functions. I only use one day, on and off. A humidity controller in the second socket.

The deal is, it's reliable. It's a repurposed security light timer. Easy to program....overkill.

I thought so too until they decided to use daylight savings day to change their own time to something new. I even had dst disabled. Not sure what feature decided to do this but I can't find anything except possibly astro time and no way to disable it so now I expect every dst change day to screw up the schedule. I've obviously set something up different than yours.

That happened to me on a previous grow. That "DST" bullshit. I noticed it in the morning. Light wasn't on. I had the dst off...or thought. I changed things back.

I cut my grow before this time change. Makes me wonder if it'd do it again...
