Hey Myke

Other than growing Autos, you really dont have a lot of choice here...( not that that bothers me..I like my autos) :)
Just fine tuning which Auto strains offer the best balance, quality and harvest size and finish for the local climate

I tried my first attempt at growing last spring with a few outdoor plants. They were beautiful but I ended up not being able to finish them off. They were regular seeds and once it got cold I tried finishing them in the garage with 600w HPS but they ended up going bad. Autos are the way to go here

I did end up getting them to start growing buds but they ended up rotting cause the floor of the garage was chilly and the soil never dried up at all

If you run into the same situation again (ie. run plants in the garage), put the pots on a sheet or two of 2" rigid foam insulation.

My basement where most of my grow tents live is 52F year round. We live on the edge of a lake so there's water running under the house (we're at the base of a bunch of mountains) and the floor is even colder than that. I put this insulation under my tents, then a piece of carpet on top of that.

Helps tremendously.

I’m entirely indoor now. Did the outdoor thing because I didn’t have tents yet

A year later I’m two tents in one for veg and one for flower. I’m running 1000w in my flower tent and 300 in my veg tent with an additional 100w of fluorescent tube lighting.

So these LALollipurps are 25 days since popping through the dirt and I started putting some training to them. They were fimmed for the first time about 10 days ago. The main stalks on these plants are about 3/8th of an inch thick already. They are vigorous and I am going to Mom this strain.

Any fellow AB's growing any landrace stuff these days? I was looking at some options...I'm doing a lot of hybrids but nothing old school yet..

Landrace cannabis are those "original' strains from all over the world that have been indigenous to there respective regions in the wild for so long that their genetics are consistent and often unique from other strains...

I've always thought about getting some Durban poison going but the flowering times and stretch have been a deterrent. I'm sure it would turn out okay, just need patience which I'm not the best with.

I was looking at Ace Seeds sativa’s. Was thinking of a future run of one of the strains maybe. Golden Tiger catches my eye.

I liked the old school Sativa’s. I’m going to pop some Amnesia CBD this weekend from Dinafem. Hoping it has the old school feel with the extra CBD.

What are you eyeing up?

I was speaking with another grower on these boards regarding Durban Poison..Going to trade for some of the stuff Ive been running at some point..I too was looking at the Ace Seeds..(one of the better landrace co's) The Malawi is suppose to be really interesting..likely a very good base for new cannabinioids..If anyone wants to grab some of these different beans might be worth a swap down the road...so we're not all coughing up a bunch of $.
