? about dark period temps being warmer than light period

I grow all of my plants, some vegging and some flowering, in the same area. The way I pull this off is by moving my flowering plants into a nearby closet (which has a fan in it) for their dark period. Two days ago I switched one more of my vegging plants to 12/12 and I was thinking (or not thinking:dunce:) that it would be a good idea to put it in the closet in the morning when I pull my other flowering plants out, and just have this plant in its dark period during the day time. I did this because I use cfls for lights and didn't want to divide them between too many flowering plants. I did not even consider the fact that my day temps are 75-80, occasionally reaching 84, and my night temps are about 64-68. Obviously, for this one plant, these temps will be the other way around.:wall: I was wondering what effects this could have on this one plant. :peace:

when your lights are off you never want your temp high the humidity will go way up.

My garden is very small (never more than 10 plants total, never more than 6 flowering at a time). The "extra work" amounts to about 2 minutes to make the switch and another 4-5 minutes to adjust the lights.

I did not know this. The area where I live (Oklahoma) is very, very dry, and this works out great for flowering.:-P Do you think that if I monitor the humidity and it is not an issue I'd be alright? Are there any other problems that this temp situation could cause?

Man i miss how warm it was in oklahoma live in alaska now lived here bout a year but from what i remember (lived in okc, edmond, and guthrie) oklahoma is NOt dry lol humid and sticky as fuck but maybe u live further south anyways. about the guys that started the threads Q there is noway for you to move the plant that will be in night all by itself futher away from the lights maybe the closet in another room or a spare bathroom so its not still getting the heat from the lights?

also if you keep your plants on the ground make sure you dont put them on the concrete you can get up root when the concrete gets cold. also its best to keep your plants a little off the ground I think the air is fresher but thats just my opinion.
if you can keep the R/H controlled when the lights are off the temp shouldnt mater as long as its not to hot

Alaska, wow. That's got to be a hell of a change, compared to OK. For obvious reasons I would not like to mention the city I live in, but it is considerably south from the cities you mentioned (which are roughly in the middle of the state). In the day my humidity usually hovers between 20%-40%. As for you suggestion, I appreciate you taking a stab at it but I think you misunderstood. When my flowering plants are in their dark period (in the closet) they don't get any heat from any light. It's just much hotter outside during the daytime (when I have this one plant in its dark period) than it is at night. This makes it warmer inside the house during the day as well.

Thanks Sticky. The closet is carpeted. I have a 12 inch fan in there on the floor and a 3 foot stand that I can fit all of my plants on. I think I'm going to monitor the RH for a couple of days and if it is an issue then i will make the decision to either slightly lower my daytime temps, or just put that one plant back into veg for 2 weeks and then flower it with all the rest. Thanks again for some direction. I gave you some + Rep. -P
