Hi, im new to the forum and about to start my first grow.
Personally i like to perfect my art and what im doing so for me ill only be growing one plant at a time until i am absolutely sure i know what im doing since im just starting out,
Im about to make my purchase of a kit and just wanted a little expert insight into the light per x foot and if this was acceptable for my first grow or if the light is a shambles and its worth to buy separately so ill drop the link to the kit im intending on buying and wait a couple days for some insight on if the light is good enough for a single plant in this current setup & if the filter will be enough to take care of a single plants smell since this will be quiet a stealth grow :) Thanks for any help given in advance !

Filters work well when the tent is closed. When you open the tent from late veg -> till its done, your room will stink. Keep the grow room door closed & look into a filter for the room if your worried about that.

People here suggested i not get the kit & instead buy good/long lasting equipment piece by piece. I'm happy with that advice. Good luck & welcome!

Appreciate it , Ill look into buying everything separate then, Whilst we're here would you say a 300w led lamp is suitable for an 80x80x160 tent then?
as far as i know what im looking for in fans would it be a carbon filter of 4" plus for a single plant to suffice then one for the room is more than enough?
Thanks.

The mars hydro kits are good, id take one of them over the first one!
Yeah it definitely looks like a good purchase comes with a 600w mars led light & 4" inline fan with 4" carbon filter,
am i right in thinking venting to the same room the tent is in causes c02 to drop and can cause humidity issues in the tent, i may need to know how you get around venting into the same room if you cant vent to outside of the room the tent is in since all windows lead to either right next to the other properties near me or quite obvious if a air duct is sticking out the window lol.
ive seen mentions of using 2 filters to help scrub smell and cleanse air but not sure how true this is.

I havent experienced that with the inline fan being in the same room. 600w is plenty of power for a decent tent! If our gonna do it, do it right!

Yeah, i think ill go with the mars kit it definitely seems the better option for 399. someone did mentioned using c02 bags or pumping the air into the room to me if you are unable to get the duct to vent to outside of the room the tent is in, but just wanted to know other peoples thoughts if theyve grown where the extracted air has been pumped into the same room as the intake. if its caused any issues. :)

I think the only issue with a grow room is the smell when the tent is opened and living in a residential area. I know you mentioned obviously using a filter in the grow room and you could use a vent. Is there any other solution that could be used for a so called "stealth" grow into a residential area without suspicions being raised etc?

I'd go with a Mars kit over the one you posted. That light leaves me super unenthusiastic.

Don't bother with CO2 bags or setup...you're new and in a tent. Its wasted money and effort at this stage (and for a few more stages until you have a sealed grow environment and are really good at growing).

Go for two plants instead of one on your first grow. That way if one goes completely sideways you have at least a chance at the second one producing something for you.

If you're totally paranoid about smell escaping...sometimes there's no way around it. You do have to water/feed those plants at least a couple times a week which means opening the tent and the smell will escape during that time unless you've got a big enough tent to enclose yourself in as well. Carbon filters work great. I have one that feeds to a duct that goes to an outside window. When you stand in the venting air, you can't smell it at all. Of course, you have to change out your filter from time to time. I get about 4 or 5 grows out of one before switching.

So would you not be bothered by extracting the tent air into the same room as the room the tent is in ? This is the general question where its a bit of a grey area some people are unbothered others are saying its huge no no.

This is the mars kit im going with for now - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B088T8S36S/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A3T0DPIL56J5CT&psc=1

Yeah, that kit is way better and can last you a handful of grows before YOU outgrow it.

I'd be pretty comfortable with the smell not being an issue (WHILE THE TENT IS CLOSED AND FANS ARE ON) with the filter. Again, though every time you open the flap to water/feed for 15 or 30 minutes once the plants are in flower, you place will smell like a weed-bomb. I have my tent in the basement in a sub-room (our boiler/utilities room) and when I open the tent to deal with the plants my wife can smell the setup within minutes upstairs. I deal with that by turning up my fans to crank the air into the filter more aggressively for about 30 minutes to clear things out again.

That all said, my real concern is pumping the humidity into your living space.

Would it be recommended to water/feed during early hours to avoid neighbors having raised suspicions its not the fact I am paranoid its more the neighbors are anti plant and that can be a bit of a pain in the ass. I am myself new to growing and would love any advice with air filtration, I can extract the air into the grow room itself not a problem as it is a large room with good circulation.

You know...you can also double filter. You can have one in the tent sucking in the air, then put another at the end of the ducting outside the tent so that your fan pushes the air through it a second time. Then make sure that there's no gaps under your doors, etc. so the neighbors don't get a sniff when you do have the tent open.

well if that would be the only real concern would running a large/medium dehumidifier in the room where its extracting to be more than viable. since its not the smell im too concerned about just the fact neighbours would soon realise theres just a duct to the window its not an option id just rather people not know what im up to :)
