Alberta Government Expects to lose 36 Million On Cannabis Sales This Year

Hahahaha too funny, tens of millions in loses for the next number of years with no path to profits!

BREAKING: Alberta expects to lose money on its pot business over the next 3 years. The province said it expects to lose $36M in its current fiscal year, falling to a $25M loss in FY21 and $24M in FY22. Alberta forecasts tax revenues of $74M this fiscal year and $84M in FY22.

You do realize that government money is taxpayer money, don't you? That's our money lost. Why are you laughing?

Just like most of the investor money lost in private weed companies belonged not to scary evil capitalists but to Joe the Working Man who bought some stock and was trying to invest for his retirement. The layoffs are of working people who are trying to feed their families.

We’re just jerks who could care less about wannabe get rich LP investors, or employees who work for them. Lotsa jobs out there that don’t require you to sell your soul, or involves slave labour...in return for a crappy wage and worthless stock options!

Nobody gave a shit about the families of the actual activists that brought you legal weed, while they (govt) was spending "our" tax dollars rounding us up and tossing us in jail, ruining the rest of our lives with criminal records. I was lucky and came out unscathed, but friends were not so lucky and I watched their children grow up without them while the banks repossessed their homes and police seized their bank accounts and assets as "proceeds of crime".

Save us your moral outrage.

where have you been????? up till now....cause we have been here all along...and despite the fact that we tried and educate them they basically told us to g f ourselves.... and locked us all out of the consultation....

. Of all the shit our tax dollars get waisted on I’m more than happy to see the greedy ass governments lose money when they all thought they would be raking in millions of profit. They created the system so that it’s almost impossible to profit at any point from seed to sale. If you ever want an industry to fail and lose money let the government control it.

There is a 14 year old teenager in every mid sized town in the country who started out buying an oz of bud from his older brother and turned it into a lifestyle and a camero by the time he was 18 and on into a lavish lifestyle for a high school kid...why because people like weed,and even a 14 year old can profit on cannabis... Only the government can lose millions selling cannabis.... the high school kid will re up his oz a 1000 times and profit on every sale...

I've never been pinched for anything marijuana related... its easy to be legal and fully compliant now but back in the day hear of someone getting caught there was something really stupid they did to get them caught.

You know the saying... No tell, no smell and only sell to 1 broker hehe... you wont get caught
