Do a little research before you order, vendor reviews and such. Some are good, Some are iffy, some are just scammers. As with anything i guess.
I've been looking at vendors lately myself. I'm looking for something specific and my usual go-to's dont have it.
It really helps to learn the basics, understand the process before just jumping in.
If i hear any good reports on vendors, etc from my Canadian Myco friends, I'll let ya know. :)
good luck.

I last ordered from Ralphster's back in 2011; however, he has a lot of bad reviews recently. I emailed him about 4 weeks ago and all I got was an automated response and he never addressed any questions.

Therefore, I went on Reddit and found a Canadian guy with great reviews. He sent my order promptly and I should be inoculating some jars, for SWIM, in a week or so. The syringes look good and I have no reason to believe they are not viable.....I'll know for sure in a few weeks.

Just google it and you should find no problem. If any of you are serious, you can PM me for his email.

Saw those reviews about the Ca site. But his US outlet was given high marks in a recent conversation with multiple purchasers I've known, trusted, and traded with for years. No matter what, who or where, seems it always a crap shoot til they are in hand.

I gotta do some reading first, make sure i know what i'm doing and not go into it blind.
I am still a newbie at cultivating cubes and there are many Tek's that will work. I don't have a pressure cooker and so I opted for a very simple beginner Tek. The Tek is linked, on page two, in the following thread:
https://www.rollitup.org/t/medical-mushrooms-the-power-of-fungi.989259/

I have used that above Tek successfully in the past and I am going to use it this time around as well. If you read it carefully it is concise. And there are also about twenty pages of questions in that Tek that will answer most that you have.

GL with whatever path you decide. :joint:

Thanks you too JPCyan. You sound like you got quite a bit of experience. I think if I ever expand my horizons, I would like to try Panaeolus cyanescens. Do you have any experience with Pans?
I think the pics you posted in another thread are Psilocybe cyanescens ?

Love me some Pan / Copelandia Cyans.. Yes those were Psilo Cyans/ woodlovers.
Pans Ive worked with- Texas Copes, Goliath , Cambodgeniensis Sandoze Domesticate (from Sandoze ;) ) , Cambodia, Tropicalis, Aussie. Some of these are debated and maybe the same.

All are very similar in growth parameters to cubes. Had them grow them along side and even in the same tray with cubes.
They are a bit faster than cubes FME. A little more finicky though. That's actually what Im looking for now. In print form, not syringe.
Cambodginiensis (Sandoze) was the strongest by far, by weight of any mushroom I've tried. Put the fear in me they did, at less than 2g dry. .

This was a test tray . The substrate was 100% vermiculite soaked/ pasteurized in American Bison/buffalo poo water. Spawned with 1/4 pt, colonized rye.

Sorry, don't want to hijack OP thread. However, just one more question:
I realize that Pans are more potent, but in your personal experience are there any characteristics of Pan's effect that differentiates it from Cubensis ........such as a cleaner trip, visuals, teachings, etc. ?
Thanks in advance.

For me, a lot of difference.,Similar only in that it is a psilo high.
Pans--No body load or nausea, Intense fast come on straight to a super speedy trip, intense visuals, super acute sensory stimulation, overpowering. Frantic. At times a couch lock experience.
Not one friend I shared pans with, (All very experienced) wanted to take them ever again haha!
For me, .amazing at super low dose for instant Migraine relief
Psilo Cyans were for me were the most enjoyable. Incredible smoothness, powerfully strong but not a speedy. low body load, Very..comfortable?

least to most body load in order (for me) 1) Pans/copes, 2)azure / psilo cyan, 3)cubes
Might be due to the amount of material consumed for desired effect.

Thanks for the detailed response. I really appreciate your insights! This inspires me to broaden my horizons

I never suggest a kit. With a little patience and attention to detail, its not that difficult starting from spore.
But.. see this thread

I totally agree. You won't end up spending too much more if you get all the materials and DIY. SAB/Glovebox can be made for ~50$ and a cheap PC is ~100$ Spores ~50$ by the time you pay shipping, and supply costs are pretty negligible (maybe 50$ for the spawn medium, fruiting medium, jars, micro pore tape, etc) so a total of lets say 300$

The spawn + bulk substrate kits I've seen are about $200, so you pay an extra up front cost to DIY, but then you have all the equipment to make the next grow very cheap, and you also have valuable knowledge on how to grow. If you have this knowledge on how to grow from spore you can then also take spore prints from mushrooms that you grow in the first "batch" and further reduce the costs of the next round.

If you want to DIY I would recommend starting with the PF tek (search PF tek on here or on Shroomery) and then once you have successfully fruited PF cakes look into the "spawn + bulk substrate method"

Pf. Is NOT the best beginning.

I do not know why so many believe this.

The inventor of the tech used it exclusively to sell his syringes.

The process is slow, yields poorly, depends upon hacks, unneeded construction and constant attention.
