I have found older threads on this site and others but I want to know if anyone is still using the HLG 96v2 Elites. I was thinking about getting one and running it with with a Meanwell HLG 185h-54A in a 2x2 or 2.5x2.5 area.

I currently grow in a space bucket. This light would basically make me go all in and build a dedicated box or buy a tent, get the filter, ect.
I'm wanting to try some hot peppers under it too.
It will work from start to bloom no prob. Hell of a deal especially running pairs ( 2 @ 320watt / dimmable ).
Plus you can run those “ pairs “ in a rack build and increase coverage for any size grow
( example .... sets of 2 running 320w x 3 = 960 watts ) And run them independently or powered together )
NO LIMIT on build.

Making a “ bar “ type lamp isn’t very difficult.

Here is mine ..... I run the 96s on 320w dimmable driver .... spaced 2 feet apart via a set of Sunblaster T5HO lamps.
The Sunblaster lamp has 6500k bulbs shown - and are used for “ starts / germing “ ( QB switched off ) or all on when bulbs are swapped with Super Veg / Bloom Agromax tubes or UV ( which can be very intense ). My idea for this build was multi function.
That’s what makes these little tanks a steal.

Now think of 6 of those or 8 spaced on a simple aluminum frame ..... you can create a killer setup very easily.

I’ve been going back and forth buying one or even two. They are still on sale for 70 bucks for the board and heat sink. That seems like a pretty good deal and pushing it at 185 watts seems reasonable considering the specs.
I usually run mine between 100watts and 120watts a piece. They will do 185watts ok, but you will get a bit less efficiency and a bit more heat comparatively. I think 120watts is totally fine for a 2x2 space.

That’s pretty awesome! I love the set up. Really shows what can be done. That’s one reason I’m drawn to the little light because it can be used in many different instances.

Ya that’s true. That would give me 30 watts per sq ft in a 2x2. I could always dim the 185 down But still have the ability to add another or crank mine up.
