Anyone tried PerfectPH? Automated pH balance would be great...

PerfectPH... So came across this while researching a 5.8 pH buffer for my small dwc setup... this device (to my understanding) uses ionization to balance a reservoir's pH to a set level just by coming into contact with the water/solution. To be clear, I'm NOT talking about pH Perfect nutes such as the lines by AN... This is an actual device you add to your tank that must be "recharged" ever 4-6 months. Check out the link below Has anyone tried this or similar product? If so, worth it? Looking for any opinions or insights.

ph fluctuations are desirable for a few reasons. different elements absorb more readily at different ph levels. rising or falling ph can indicate when it is time to change res or increase/decrease ec, or help us diagnose problems. locking your ph at 5.8 would take a useful tool out of your hands. personally, i wouldnt bother with it

It works great, been using it well over a year and a half now. You still get to ride the drift from 5.8 to 6.2, and if you start to see it go to 6.3 you know it's time to change the reservoir. It uses ion exchange resins to rebalance the pH and works best in recirculating systems where root interaction with the water increases the available hydrogen ions (thus the pH).

I haven't used a single drop of pH up or down since I put these in my reservoirs and never having to adjust pH has been a godsend for an automated garden.

Interesting but looking at the pricing, think I'll go with a traditional pH controller and pump. If it were a bit lower in price and upkeep, I'd be more tempted to try it. Interested enough I'll keep an eye on the product though and see how it pans out for people.
