Anyone versed in 18650 battery packs and brushless speed controllers?

Hi guys. I'm building a Frankenstein electric scooter out of a m365 pro chassis that had non functional running gear.

I have two 7.8ah batteries (10s3p) with basic BMS on each battery (only over/undervoltage and current, 18a max, no balance sensing or communication connector) that I intend to run parallel on a 36v 25a brushless controller with only a thumb throttle with integrated power and voltage display. All simplicity.

I have made a parallel connector for the batteries, but have had a lot of mixed opinions on charging the batteries in unison. Is it safest to charge each battery separately, and use anti-discharge plugs to connect them afterwards, or is it okay to charge both batteries from the one socket and charger, and let them balance each other?

I'm not running regen braking, so there will be no hard current reversal at top speed/full charge, and the controllers max discharge is well under the batteries combined current cap, so the biggest issue I see is charging the batteries.
