I think the plant determines the area it needs. Some strains are better for indoor because their small and bushy and take less space while other grow large and tall and are more difficult to grow indoors. I run 12 plants in a 8x8 tent and it seems tight at times but I just space the plants out as they grow. I do not Scrog/SoG tho I veg for 4-6 week keeping them nice and bushy and it work well. Im expecting 1/2-1 lb per plant depending on the strain. Scrog/Sog methods are really not friendly toward personal legal grows for medical use since plant count is limited by law in my area. Since laws say 3 veg 3 flower per patient I find it better to veg longer get bigger plants and just grow perpetual style that way. With 5 patients I'm limited to 18 veg 18 flower and since I only do 12 I have room for expansion or errors but 12 plants flowering 4 at a time, 3 weeks apart will give 2lbs-3lbs every 3 weeks. Also only doing 12 plants give me less to trim, maintain and feed which saves alot of money and time.

Best of Luck

Ummmm. SCROG is probably the best way to maximize yield with a limited number of plants as you can train them to occupy more space. Pound per plant with 6 weeks veg?...first grow huh? The most I ever got off of one plant was 4.2 lbs. That plant veggws for 6 months and was about 15' high.

Back to the question though, if you train them to be bushy a 4-6 week veg occupies about 3 sf. In my scrog I train them to occupy aboutt 4sf. Yields are around 3-4 ounces depending on strain. Check out my journal. I posted pics of week 7 on page 19. You gotta love how buds bulk up in the last two weeks. Should be pulling them down next week.

TRial and error my friend. Some plants, Cloud 9 for example will grow so tall and wide that unless you scrog it it will take 3 sq ft per , something like a hash plant you may get by with 18 X 18, mature clones straight to flower in a sog about 1 sq ft, but either way you gotta know your plants and what is most productive for your needs and capabilities. Too many variables to really answer your question
