:leaf: PATIENT?? :leaf: GROWER?? :leaf:

I am currently in Phoenix Arizona. I am on a mission to find other people with my same interest... To grow marijuana for patients. A caregiver may grow (12) plants for (5) patients. That is (60) :leaf: plants for one caregiver.
I want to come together with other people that want to grow the HIGHEST of quality of buds...

If growing marijuana is your passion, you are not alone. Lets clash heads and be the first people to start growing in AZ and take over the growing industry...

:leaf:I want to hear feedback from people in ARIZONA:leaf:

I too am in arizona (flagstaff) and I have been growin under the radar for awhile now. Now that prop 203 passed I want to provide patients with high quality medicine. But I just don't know where to start and not very familiar with the new laws set in place for medical MJ here.

But YES, I want to try to setup one of the first dispensaries in down in Phoenix. I have some mothers so things could takeoff pretty quickly if things go well. Lets collaborate.

I just moved back down to PHX from Flag... Misssing the great weather... A dispensaries will cost well over $100,000 dollars to obtain the license... If obtaining the license is POSSIBLE that would be the way to go for sure.... Being the owner of the dispensary you could have people grow for you...

Message me for more details of my idea....

Actually the license will be very affordable.

This is from NORML

  1. Fees for non-profit dispensaries shall not be greater than $5,000 or $1,000 for a renewal license.

According to the law you can grow at the dispensary or ONE location. You cannot pay people for their herb so you could not buy from private growers although you could accept donations. I am not sure how long any growers will donate for free.

Here is a link to some important info about the new law.

A renewal will be $1000-$5000... But to obtain the license will be over $100,000... Simuliar to a liquor license....

NLSK1 - READ YOUR OUR POST.... YOU stated, "Fees for non-profit dispensaries shall not be greater than $5,000 or $1,000 for a renewal license."

KEY WORD- RENEWAL...... Since no one in this State will be RENEWING their license in April 2011 they will have to apply for A LICENSE.... Which is going to be over $100,000...

Hey phxfire, lets keep this friendly. I want people to have the right information.

Now, I am currently reading over the actual written law. And if you will refer to section 36-2806 subsection F. from this link http://www.azsos.gov/election/2010/Info/PubPamphlet/english/Prop203.htm

And I quote

F. A REGISTERED NONPROFIT MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARY MAY ACQUIRE USABLE MARIJUANA OR MARIJUANA PLANTS FROM A REGISTERED QUALIFYING PATIENT OR A REGISTERED DESIGNATED CAREGIVER ONLY IF THE REGISTERED QUALIFYING PATIENT OR REGISTERED DESIGNATED CAREGIVER RECEIVES NO COMPENSATION FOR THE MARIJUANA.
That means they have to donate it to the dispensary, the dispensary cannot purchase the marijuana.

Please refer to section 36-2803 section 5 subsection b from this link http://www.azsos.gov/election/2010/Info/PubPamphlet/english/Prop203.htm

And I quote:

5. ESTABLISHING APPLICATION AND RENEWAL FEES FOR REGISTRY IDENTIFICATION CARDS AND NONPROFIT MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARY REGISTRATION CERTIFICATES, ACCORDING TO THE FOLLOWING:
(a) THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF ALL FEES SHALL GENERATE REVENUES SUFFICIENT TO IMPLEMENT AND ADMINISTER THIS CHAPTER EXCEPT THAT FEE REVENUE MAY BE OFFSET OR SUPPLEMENTED BY PRIVATE DONATIONS.
(b) NONPROFIT MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARY APPLICATION FEES MAY NOT EXCEED $5,000.
(c) NONPROFIT MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARY RENEWAL FEES MAY NOT EXCEED $1,000.
(d) THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF REVENUE FROM NONPROFIT MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARY APPLICATION AND RENEWAL FEES AND REGISTRY IDENTIFICATION CARD FEES FOR NONPROFIT MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARY AGENTS SHALL BE SUFFICIENT TO IMPLEMENT AND ADMINISTER THE NONPROFIT MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARY PROVISIONS OF THIS CHAPTER, INCLUDING THE VERIFICATION SYSTEM, EXCEPT THAT THE FEE REVENUE MAY BE OFFSET OR SUPPLEMENTED BY PRIVATE DONATIONS.
(e) THE DEPARTMENT MAY ESTABLISH A SLIDING SCALE OF PATIENT APPLICATION AND RENEWAL FEES BASED UPON A QUALIFYING PATIENT'S HOUSEHOLD INCOME.
(f) THE DEPARTMENT MAY CONSIDER PRIVATE DONATIONS UNDER SECTION 36-2817 TO REDUCE APPLICATION AND RENEWAL FEES.
B. THE DEPARTMENT IS AUTHORIZED TO ADOPT THE RULES SET FORTH IN SUBSECTION A AND SHALL ADOPT THOSE RULES PURSUANT TO TITLE 41, CHAPTER 6.
Which means the application fee cannot exceed 5,000 and the renewal fee cannot exceed 1,000.

Well I may be wrong... This is for Arizona? Assuming it is than I may consider opening a dispensary....:leaf:
Yeah, it is the text for the Arizona bill. Now that it has become a law the legislature has to write the specific wording but the basic framework is there.

I dunno this renewal fee is bullshit!, lot of things need re-working/amending some of the patients are cripple unable to leave ther home, and aside from that, are already getting raped (financially) from ther current medication/opiate fees.

I may hypothetically speaking, in theory become a caregiver, and would like to learn more on the art.

That 1000 dollar renewal fee is for a DISPENSARY license, not a patient getting a card. The cards are going to be much cheaper.

I havent read completely through the law but skimming it I think the fees are going to be based off of what it will cost to administer the program by the government. So the fees have not been calculated yet for the patients, only the limits for the dispensaries.

The entire legislation is geared toward non-profit dispensing of medicine. If you are a caregiver you can only charge what it cost you to grow the plants, you cannot charge your patients for labor.
