Its strain dependent usually and not all strains grow well outdoors here, October we start to lose precipitation (the little we have). My experience, as long as you keep the ground at proper moisture levels and try to keep dust to a minimal, the ladies love the intensity of the sun.

Thanks

From the looks of it shes going to need more than 3 weeks. The calyxes don't seem to be swelling yet. Generally once calyxes start to swell it takes about 2-3 weeks to be ready to harvest.
I didn't know the calyx swelling was an indication of timing. U r correct, after some research of what a calyx is and taking a close up there doesn't appear to be swelling

We just got hail. Fortunatly, I harvested all but four plants that morning. The last four get harvested in the morning. Night time temps are supposed to be in the 30's starting this weekend.

Not sure how I got to this thread but it was fun and a good read. Looking at those pictures I would say at least 4 more weeks and likely 6 from that point. Tons of white pistils sticking straight up...no swell yet.
thank you, it really hard to know only having done this once before in 2017! here is where we are today. I was thinking of chopping next Wednesday.....should I wait longer? it's for someone with pain and insomnia

I'd let it go 2-3 weeks longer, unless your weather wont allow it.
