Attitude Seeds Will NOT Sprout? :(

Hey guys, first off,I would like to say that Attitude seed bank delivered extremely fast to the USA and I couldn't have been happier. I ordered one lowryder diesel and that came with a UFO Freebie as always. I germinated the Diesel, put it in soil, and sure enough it never sprouted. The UFO is in soil right now and appears to be doing the same thing. I germinated it till the root was a little more than 1/4 inch long, and put it seed facing up in the soil and put a handfull or 2 of water on it. I don't know if I am doing something wrong OR there is something wrong with the seeds. Any help would be awesome guys. One love.

My question, do you have heat on it. Temperature plays a great role in germination. Even if it was cracked and had a tap root out, if the temp is low it's going to take longer to pop.
Edit: you don't need light til it pops. Although I use light as a heat source sometimes.

The UFO has been in soil for about 3 days and the Diesel is dead. The root just died.... And I am surethe light is not the problem. 4 CFL's on just the UFO and I believe it has gotten plenty of water :/ The temps are in the low 80s

I have always had good luck with seeds. I think it comes from working in my Grandpa's garden as a kid.

Your soil should be moist but not soaking. I water before I place my seeds so that if I overdo it I can get new soil, and because pouring water on a newly planted seed sometimes causes them to wash up out of their hole or other issues.

So moisten your soil and fill a container. Take your pinky finger and make a hole the depth of your nail. Use tweezers to carefully grab your seeds and place them tap root down in dirt. Brush some dirt over them and let them go.

If your grow room is cool or cold you may want to get a seedling heating tray or something. If you have an old refrigerator in your house put your hand on top and see if it is warm. Put your plants up there with a little CFL for a day or so and they should come right out.

if it has a tap root it has already germinated. moving them around when they have just germed is a good way to infect them or damage them in some other way. good luck.

Damn man that sux. I know how you feel tho. For the past couple of weeks everything I seem to germinate wont sprout, and if they do they die off right away.

I finally got 2 outta 4 to sprout up for me yesterday. Will see how this round goes.

Very true indeed.
I don't know, I am just a little confused. My bag seed sprouted in less than 2 days and the UFO has been under for 3 and nothing is happening

Get yourself a seedling heating pad and a humidity dome.

3 days is WAY too early to rule it a dud. i've seen them sprout at three WEEKS lol. patience will serve you well here.

the seeds i germinated took 4 -7 days till properly cracked that was in a propergator in the airing cupboard with 2 strip lights come through healthy some seeds just take time bear with it dont overwater good luck ws

I like for mine to get at last 1/2 inch long in the paper towels before I think about planting them.

My technique. Soak papertowels, add seeds, fold in half, place in plastic bag, throw in dark drawer and come back 2-3 days later. It may be right or wrong but it works. Throwing just a small tap root into the wrong soil conditions can kill it quickly. The fact that you got a tap root to appear means there is/was nothing wrong with the seeds. Germ longer for better results. With the soaked technique 3 days is sometime pushing it because they get big in the towels. I use cold water and no heat just like spring conditions. Practice on some bagseed until you get the hang of this technique.

Good stuff man, I have germinated a total of 5 seeds using this technique, including the ones that will not sprout right now. Thanks for all the advice everyone, if it sprouts i'll for sure let you know.

I put both my freebies straight into FFOF yesterday under 16/8 and 200w cfl's, I hope to see them by Sunday

I have ordered from The attitude twice. Both times I received my shipment within a week. All of the seeds have germinated. never had a problem with them.
What i do is I soak them in water for a few hours and then put them into a wet paper towel. The towel then goes into a baggy that is left slightly open. I then put them on my dvd player and use the warmth it puts off, checking them twice a day and making sure they stay moist. Always make sure the appliance you put them on is not putting out too much heat. If so, they will cook. Try putting a magazine or two in between at first and see how much heat that puts off. Make sure to check them daily, when they sprout, they grow quick with the heat. Also, when taking them out of the towel, do not touch the tap root! I gently hold the seed shell end and already have a small hole in my soil pot ready to put it in, tap root down.

I would think it's environmental, from my experience germinating seeds. I have germinated about 50 seeds, but never started a grow until a couple months ago. I too purchased seeds from the Attitude Seedbank. They were Nirvana Seeds and I germinated 5 Jock Horrors the same way I germinated all my seeds: Wet paper towel in a ziplock bag placed on top of my fridge. All 5 popped in less than 24 hours and then I planted. Consequently I'm flowering 5 pretty ladies (confirmed) now. It's all about the conditions and less about the medium IMO.

Wow guys thank you so much for all this advice. I am just confused because germinating them was not the problem. I just don't know if maybe I touched the tap root? Would that kill the seed that fast? And could i have possibly put it too deep in the soil?
Also, do you guys recommend watering the soil before I put the seed in AND do you put it under light right away?
