Auto flowers on 12 hours of light

I've run every flowering plant, autos and photos, on 12/12 and have for 15 yrs. No issues. When you read that autos need more....perhaps so but they don't require it. My 2 oz avg out of 2 ltr pots proves that.
Do you run 12/12 from seed?

Don't mind the LED color, 30 autos @ 24 days above ground. Going to put them in the flower room in a few days. Small pots hold the same as a solo cup. Some of the males have already started to show tiny tiny preflowers. IMG_3917.JPGIMG_3918.JPGIMG_3919.JPGIMG_3921.JPGIMG_3922.JPG

So you flower these in the same pots till the end? What are your plant average, and why grow reg autos instead of fem autos? I like the idea of a full on auto sog.

wow, I'm taking note of this. I always thought this, if autoflowers don't care about 12/12 light cycle, then they would grow with ANY light cycle, as long as they get more than 12 light. ?

this is m first autoflower (Northern Lights). This girl is 50 days from seed. Using Westland soil with added John Innes, it's the best medium I've ever used, the pH remains perfect as autoflower plants don't need a lot of attention. Using minimal feeds. I have a good airflow and filter set up. and a 400wt HPs . with an 18/6 light cycle.

I took note 15 yrs ago when I simply slipped some auto seeds into an rarely tended 'winter flower' room that ran 12/12 or less at times. Autos are sensitive about some things just like photos but extended light periods is not one of them. Although longer lighting periods may increase yield, increased costs simply do not justify it. As I've stated before, autos CAN handle more light, but they sure don't require it. If you wanna grow monsters, light helps but several other parameters must be in check.
I've never done less than 12/12 so can't speak to that...but 15 yrs of 12/12 proves autos don't give a shit. I'll spend those savings on improving other parameters.

Yes they will stay in those pots till harvest. No fem autos becaus it's a pheno hunt/seed run. I've always liked SOGs as well, I breed for traits that will improve on that style and I think the small pots help with that. First time running these autos indoors like this. I usually breed with this line outside so no average for you, but if I put a small photo clone in these pots I'd say I'd get a 8th + of nice top grade bud.
