Autos and Supercropping

I'm no beginner - I've been growing for 30 years but I have no experience with autos. I received 4 freebies from Attitude on my last order and decided to try them. Orka feminized, Black Kush feminized, Viper City OG feminized, and Cheese XXL auto. I have never grown an auto before - it is 7 weeks old from seed and the growth is nothing less than explosive. I have read that autos shouldn't be trained because of their short life span but this plant is pretty much maxed out on height and the tips were starting to burn a bit so I decided to supercrop one on the tallest colas first to see if it works before I do all the rest. It's been 2 days and the attached leaves have all turned toward the light and doing well. Any thoughts on using this technique on an auto this late in the growth cycle would be appreciated.
