I just bought some bad smelling weed. It smell like it got rotten or laced with something and smoking is Unbearable..

Dont suggest water curing it wount do s*it (i tried that once on my ovn weed)..

My first experiment is trying to boil it for 10 minutes, washed with clean water and try to dry it..

Does anyone have some better idea??

It could be the terps. I had a strain before that smelled like baby vomit. When I looked it up on Leafly one of the first reviews said "This shit is amazing, but it smells like vomit!".

At this point you are basically cooking the THC out of your bud. If you are putting them in boiling water for 10 minutes, then you are decarboxylating the flower, and you might as well just mix all that into butter instead of drying the bud to smoke it.

Ya, I have a better idea, grow your own, lol.

Seriously though, my homegrown shit is way better than 95% of the shit out there in the dispensaries, and is a lot tastier. I don't trust buying off the black market now that I know what kinda shit they will do just to get to harvest. They don't give a fuck about your health. and will spray some crazy shit on them just to cash in. But you gotta do what you gotta do to get some weed sometimes, lol.

You are boiling off thc...no, thc is not water soluble BUT it will strip it off the bud.... the terpenes...I'm sorry Friend but I'm thinking you just ruined your smoke.

No dont worry.. I could only kill potency,, Not smoke because it was non smoke able... At least I have somethong to go by while waiting on harvest..

What I meant by "cooking it out of the bud" was that the boiling water is still going to strip the oils out of the bud to a pretty high degree. I think a lot of people take the fact that THC is not water soluble a little too literally. While it does not bind to water easily, the 220 degrees is takes for water to boil is going to cause the trichome heads to burst, the oils in the bud to thin and flow more easily, and a lot of it will come off the bud and will be in the water due to the heat and the agitation caused by the boiling...it just won't mix into and bind to the water like it would with a fat or oil. Think about it...oil and lard isn't water soluble but you can rinse both out of fabric with nothing but boiling water.
