Back after many years

Hello all, I used to post here quite a bit back in the day, got the itch a few weeks ago and well here we are. I'm doing a little test, to see if it will work out, I love the plants and this is more for fun than anything. Right now I have 2 topanga bananas fem and 1 kelly maxwell reg seedlings around 2-3 days old outdoors in some plain Kelloggs organic plus potting mix. With another kelly maxwell cracked in soil waiting to pop. I live in subtropics and this is all just pretty much to see if the plants will have time to finish before revegging. If not no harm no foul, I'll keep them around to reveg if I can or at least snip a few clones. I didn't really plan on doing a grow journal because I was doubtful it would work out.

But enough talk! The genetics are Brisco's Bargain Beans from Dcseedexchange (first time for both and was a great experience, 3 days delivery 2/2 for topanga 2/3 for kelly germ rate.) As I said they're in the organic plus mix, but I have 1/2 Kelloggs 1/4 worm castings and some pearlite mix waiting for them, going to amend with biolive from down to earth, they will be transplanted to 3 gal fabric pots(to try and manage size)
Now it could be just me being overly cautious, but one of the topanga bananas is looking a little rough, not quite sure what it is, haven't watered since before they broke soil 2 days ago but the soil is still pretty wet, even tho it's been bright and sunny and they get around 10 hours or so of direct sunlight a day, any input and or advice is appreciated, apologies for the long winded post, will keep updates when there's stuff worth updating. Oh also relatively new to outdoor.IMG_20201008_155146.jpgIMG_20201009_061409.jpgIMG_20201009_080426.jpgIMG_20201009_083929.jpgIMG_20201009_074047.jpg

Not much of an update but I transplanted all of them into the 3 gal fabric pots because that plain Kelloggs soil has horrible drainage and air flow. One of the kelly's I amended with the biolive, (to see if it could take it, I'm just experimenting after all) and the 2 topanga's and other kelly just went into the Kelloggs/worm castings pearlite mix. Well I think it's safe to say that the kelly sure could take it and has absolutely exploded past all the other's. So today I top dressed the other 3 with biolive, but a very low dosage. The topanga's I'm having troubles with, one in particular. I thought it was moisture stress at first, now looking like I have some sort of pest issue. Will most likely dust with some diatamacious earth, but thinking about trying nematodes instead. Anyways quick little update so I can keep track of my progress. Topanga's first 2, kelly's last 2 EDIT: Yep just found a tiny little worm chewing away on one topanga, then it dropped down with a web into the soil before I could kill it. Going to mix up some insecticidal soap and hit the plants, as well as dust with diatamacious earth later when I'm able to grab some

Update, both kelly's ended up female, and lost one topanga to pests, the most vigorous kelly is about 3 weeks into flower, the one topanga is week 1 ish or less, and the other kelly just started showing sex a few days ago. I have a cut of the fastest kelly and it rooted easily, no rooting hormone or clone solution, just put it in some moist soil with a plastic baggy over top to lock in humidity. The genetics btw on the kelly maxwell are (GMO x Swayze) x Fionna's crack (black raspberry [goji x wookie] x jelly pie) The furthest along kelly has impressed me so far, given I have only maybe completed 4 or 5 grows so my point of reference is limited. But she's resilient, fastest of the bunch by far, producing a decent amount of frost already, and has this pungent foul odor on the nose, it's hard to describe. While moving it one day I brushed a bud up against my hand and the smell was all sweet berries and jelly. The topanga bananas is topanga canyon OG x Big bananas if I'm not mistaken, and has a dank earthy smell on the nose already. Will post an update in a few weeks when everything's further along. Btw had some sort of pest issue early on that kind of beat up the plants, the largest kelly the most, but seems the girls are pulling through. Oh and also here's a pic of this Chernobyl x Blueberry seedling that popped with blood red leaves and stem. Now it's taking on some sort of weird pastel colors, the first petals faded to this white/pink/purple/yellow early on and have stayed like that for over a week without wilting or dying. Not sure what's going on with it tbhIMG_20201210_070513.jpgIMG_20201211_073628.jpgIMG_20201211_073317.jpgIMG_20201211_073653.jpg

Kelly 1 - Smells like funk and berries, dense solid nugs most resin coverage of the 3, a bit leafy but no complaints here with all the frostIMG_20210111_122834.jpg
Kelly 2 - straight pine tree, going to require least amount of trimming, buds seem lighter less dense than other 2, second most frost IMG_20210111_124415.jpg
Topanga bananas - beautiful, oranges and tropical smells, some banana in there as well, smell is almost intoxicating, solid dense nugs.IMG_20210111_122821.jpg

Have ran into issues a plenty this go round and kelly 1 is still chugging along for the most part, though maybe a little unhappy IMG_20210121_140509.jpg
