Backbuilding side by side test
So i have my grow journal here and i'm doing some backbuilding on some to test. last time i backbuilt i got 7 1/2 oz off a plant, it stalls growth a little like topping but if you do it a bit at a time and not aggressive it'll cut the healing time down greatly.

Bullshit myths need busting to end all arguments, so i'v never seen this side by side test before, i've seen one of supercropping which is bullshit and doesn't work, it's used in the guerrilla fields to put a knuckle on the long sativa stems to strengthen in the wind ... chinese whispers or noobie troll prank, a side by side test will tell all.

my grow blog here - last 2 weeks of flower

I will let them heal then pinch the tops again, i'm doing all the buds down 6" of the cola, the theory is it stops up growth momentum like topping then fattens/bushes them up ... we will see.

I’ve seen it done it seems to work. I simply pass based on I top an have more than enough plants.

Probably for good reason. I've grown a while and never heard of it.
Past 4 months i've just heard of it, it does seem to work and you can see the bud stop growing up and start fattening out.

It might be a visual illusion tho if this makes sense, all the bud that would grow up now sits on the sides.

i'll do a weight test when they dried in about 2 weeks

It would be interesting to see. But it would have to be done with clones to get a true answer. That way the plants are identical and not a variant of the plant.

Not much difference as yet, but the ones backbuilt seem a lot more dense, but i'm not squashing them too much just yet .. time will tell, it'll also run out but that's another topic.

not backbuilt

Ok so pretty interesting, the top pictures not been backbuilt, it's buds taller as the tops still there but the density is the difference between butter and cold half frozen butter, as you can see the bottom pic (which had been backbuilt) looks fatter, less tall and is much denser to squash ... is it an illusion ? because the tops not there, is the top weight just getting added to the bottom giving it a fatter denser feel and look ?

either way at the moment hopefully i'm not going to lose weight but gain density ... which is good.
