Wanted to see what some of you guys recommend for lighting a 2x4 area for under $300? Best bang for the buck but with good results.

EDIT - best LED light.
I put up the Grow Tent two days ago and with a nice Szhlux 400 watt LED. I had to turn the light down to 50% as it was a s scaring my girls after a day. I think maybe the higher setting 800 watts might be helpful later but I love the 2×2 light it covers my 2x4 tent well. $168.00 on Amazon. Love it's timer and built in temperature monitor. Although I use an indoor out door thermometer to check the center if mass heat. It has an easy to use probe connected to the light that measures the temp at the top of the folage.
The light is advertised as a 6x6 so it was a mistake that they sent the 2x2 but it turned out in be perfect.

Right at 300$ for a 2x4' light especially a Migro, that's decent. Probably have to run close to the canopy and 100% to flower a photoperiod. Everything else like the warranty and customer service makes up for it
Yea i think thats the one im going to go with unless i find something better in the next week or so. I love the design of it and it will literally fit perfect in my space so definitely going to get good coverage. And luckily this closet is just for autoflowers. Photos (if i ever run one) will be in my other empty closet. Lol lots of empty closets in my house.

I see AC Infinity has some new lights out. The one for the 3x3 is very tempting as I have a 3x3. I'm not sure the one for the 4x2 gives as good coverage as say the Maxisun, Viparspectra or Grow Science but is under 300.

With autoflowers, i ran my Migro at 50% power at 30-40cm distance even though 20cm is recommended. 18/6 schedule. Anything more than that and the top leaves seemed to get bleached. I can't confirm for photoperiods though. And the tent is in my room so it gets some extra CO2 from me as well.

The only minus with Migro is that it doesn't have Infrared/Far-Red diodes, the spectrum has only 4% IR which is apparently enough but some other lights have 10-15% IR. It's not a deal breaker but there's lots of info online about IR benefits so i might get supplemental IR in the future just to try.
IR heats the leaf surface, and since it has no IR and the light runs very cool, you might need some extra heat in the tent. I found the best temps for a nice growth was at 27-28C for me. So if you live in a hot area Migro is perfect for you.

I didnt even notice that. I do live in a very hot and humid area so hopefully i will be fine. I think ill look into a supplemental light as well.

Personally i had some bad experience with Mars Hydro, both with their product and customer service so i wouldn't recommend it.
If you search around you'll see plenty of negative comments and reviews about Mars Hydro regarding their quality. Most of the good reviews come from sponsors, or people who got a free light and are obliged to give a good review. Or people who just bought the light, vegged a plant for 1 month and they were so excited and happy they gave a good review. But what about 1, 2 or 3 years later? Very few legit positive reviews, they must be very lucky to have a good experience with Mars Hydro even after few years.
They are really good at marketing, that's where most of their investment goes, not into quality..
And their so called ''5 year warranty'' is basically a clickbait, you only get 1 year free warranty, the rest you have to pay for shipping BOTH WAYS, repairs, parts etc.. And it's highly possible they will try to avoid honoring their warranty, or sending wrong parts, or you just might wait for few months until they send the light back to China for repairs. Overall a bad company with bad customer service and a 50-50% chance of getting a good product, it's a gamble..

If you are going for cheaper lights i'd rather pick Spider Farmer, Maxisun, Bestva, Viparspectra.. Although they are in the same range as Mars, they aren't as risky and they are slightly better.

But i would highly recommend MIGRO, i own his light and it's awesome. Only 300€ just within your budget. Both the light fixture and the driver run extremely cool, it's high efficiency and high quality, 3 years full warranty.. Customer service is excellent as well.
You can order 1 short and 1 long bracket so you can adjust the distance between the light bars as needed. You get 2 fixtures for 2x4 tent so you can hang one fixture lower and the other higher in case you grow 2 strains at once. Distance from canopy is only around 10 inches, it's short on purpose to have an even spread, and it also helps with height.
Now he made some upgrades, i have the older model so i can't wait to try the newer one. Strangely it's a very underrated light even though Migro is popular and many people trust his videos. And don't get mislead by the wattage thinking Mars 300W is better than Migro 250W. His lights are more efficient so they don't need 300W, and Mars lights barely pull the correct wattage anyway, most people get around 280 real wattage.

Me too, I remember m.h. asking me if i can solder..a few short years ago their reputation wasn't good. I personally won't buy anything from them again because I don't trust them. Many other companies like s.f and hlg to choose from if a name brand is a must. Now startd the binning conversation. Like someone just posted, the plant doesn't care as long as the par numbers and such are right.

That's awesome. The design is pretty slick! Different and interesting for sure. Looks like a winner

Has anyone used or does use a viparspectra P4000 or a Viparspectra XS4000? They have a pretty good price difference but im wondering if they will give much different results between the two? I have both saved in the cart. About $100 buck difference maybe a little more.

I use the szhlux pt4000 led it was on Amazon for $165.00, It's in 2x4 grow tent. It does put off some heat but my exhaust fan is cooling great. I love it's adjustable wattage and goes up to 400. I run it at about 350 with 4 plants. Comes with a heat sensor that dangles on the canopy and an adjustable high temp shutdown. Love it.

Did some reasearch. Wow! That Mars hydro is impressive at a great price. Trying not to be bias about the Szhlux so. imo probably the best bang for your buck.
