Best next uograde.... advice needed

Hi all. Been growing a lot recently and got some decent results. Various strains, although I plan on reducing that down to 2 or 3 strains.

I have 2 linked tents and an looking to either improve quality or increase output. I have a few options...check out the diagram and pics...

1 an extra tent to face tent 2 to combine with and make it bigger. I can then use one of the tents to dry and keep other 2 for veg making it a super flexible set up... being able to set it up as. 2 big tents or 3 smaller...so when I cut I can have one for drying and one to veg the next batch. ( I currently start alternating rooms every 5 weeks ish) I already have a spare cmh 315 light for it if I go for that route.

2 a larger dehumidifier
I have been looking at the quest bottom of the range. I have a 25l currently running in tent 1 and this is having some effect although it makes it hard to reduce the night temps. Also only has a limited value due to the exhaust.

Which leads me to ...

3 CO2 ... either a unis basic burst system from co2 bottle or a ram air sample controller. The plan would be to circulate the air between the 2 tents.

The last option is 3 plus 2... of I seal 2 tents then I guess I might have to up the dehumidifier anyways...

1200 for the dehu
Just 89 bucks for the 150x100 tent
600 to 700 for the co2 system...

What would you do?

just curious about a couple of things...how big is the room and the tents? What is your daytime/nighttime humidity like now?

See the diagram.

Tent 1 is 1.5m x 1.5m x2m
Tent 2 is 1 x 1.5 x2 linking the same tent again would make tent 2 2x1.5mx2m

See the attached data logs 303 is the t1 tent which is in flower. 438 is the 2nd tent which is in veg right now.

Oh and its a loft... so there are beams in between each tent... I can still link them though with some sheeting.

Quest makes great Dehu’s but for the amount of square footage you are using do you really want to spend $1200 on one? I’ve been using a $240 70 pint Dehu for the last 3 years and it has no problem keeping the RH down in a 6’x8’x6’. Just set up a continuous drain as the reservoirs are quite small.

CO2 has the potential to raise yield 20-30%, but if you add another tent to either harvest
more, or more frequently you are doing the same thing for a fraction of the cost.

All that being said I would do all three options but for much cheaper.

~ $100 for another tent
~ $250 for 70 pint Dehu
~ $400 for Autopilot APC8200 CO2 controller, regulator and tank.

What dehu are you using... the one I have is similar at 25ltrs. Last night I tried slowing the fan down and the rh shot up a load. This suggests to me that the dehu can't keep up..

Thanks for the suggestion. That autopilot is jot available in my part of the world so delivery makes it about the same... not to mention plugs are different.

I dont know how you guys do it in a tent I cant find myself to do it. If you cant put the co2 ppms above 1200 then there is no point.

A Frigidaire. Are you running your intake/exhaust all the time?

That would make your dehu ineffective and CO2 pointless.

I have my intake/exhaust on a thermostat so they won’t turn on until 85F and will bring temp down to 83F and shut off.

If you want to run CO2 you need to go sealed with an AC for cooling and Dehu for humidity.

Yeah I have been running exhaust coz no co2 at the moment. But of I slow down the fan the humidity goes up. So I don't think that current dehu can cope.

Of I do add co2 then I will be using the fan to circulate the co2 enriched air between the 2 tents... thats the idea anyway... but to do that I think I need a dehu that can cope

Maybe I’m not understanding correctly but how is the dehu supposed to work if the exhaust fan is always running.

It’s not going to be able to lower the humidity if you constantly have the intake/exhaust running. That would be like running an A/C with intake/exhaust fans on.

To properly use CO2 you will need an A/C and dehu to control temps/RH. Exchanging air between the tents is fine but you don’t want an intake or exhaust running during lights on while the CO2 is on.

The fan is on low so I can retain heat. The dehu should be more effective the lower that fan is right?

I'll run an experiment later today and turn the fan off completely and see what happens to the humidity levels.
