best way to protect root rot from the beginning

Hey guys, this is my first grow and my plants are fcked beacuse of root rot. i made some serious mistake like putting seaweed in rez, changing the rez more then 2 times in 3 week so i can tell i deserve it but its good side im learning a lot so its worth. i was trying to fix them with h2o2 buts if failure so I decide throw them out and start from beginning. everybody telling me i should be using Hydroguard but in my country this nut cant be found so I dont want to deal this shit again what u guys thinking what nut should i be use for root rot. ITS REALLY SUCKS. my grow room temp is fine rez temp max 22 no light leak.

OPTIONS: Voodo juice, Orca, Great white

Dont put seaweed in your res for a start. Just put nutes in your res. Dont try any of your own new ideas.

I've only used hydroguard or gff before I invested in a chiller.
My rez temps were typically in the mid 70's and each run would show signs of rot when I removed the root mass from the totes.
So, my suggestion would be either a dedicated chiller to keep rez temps low enough to prohibit microbial growth OR get some pool shock and run a sterile system(that's what I would do if a chiller isn't an option).

Seaweed or water soluble seaweed concentrate ? Asking cause Im planning to use it in my test res.
Btw I use hudroguard as a preventative measure.

If you are using salt based nutrients i think it is a far better idea to run a sterile reservoir. Simple bleach will typically keep all the bad stuff from taking hold. I save the organics for soil grows.

This. Organic anything is a bad idea in hydro. Seaweed is organic

Hate to say it again, but DIY UC Roots ftw. 2mL of 12% Sodium Hypochlorite per 1 liter of water and mix up. Add in 7mL/Gal of that mix into systems and topoffs then add in every 3 days afterwards.

A 5 Gallon of 12% Sodium Hypochlorite costs me $18 CAD and will last x10 lifetimes. Organics and hydro are a no-go.

your peroxide should have worked. do you know why it did not?

I tried two grows with bennies and failed. I think there was more to it than temps - my bucket was too small for the amount of air I was throwing through it. The hydroton was constantly soaked as a result. I also discovered some mould in the bottom of the spray bottle I was using for foliar applications which didn't help at all.

I've personally gone sterile. If you want a similar benefit to bennies, introduce some fulvic acid - it's a great chelator which helps the plants access nutrients.

With a small res, measuring out 0.0Xg of pool shock per day can be a PITA... so, I am currently using Silver Bullet Roots. This keeps things sterile without having to dose daily... up to 4 weeks of protection in veg and up to 2 weeks in bloom.

Am hoping I make it to bloom this time! Rot killed me just as I was switching over on the last grow.

With DWC, some folks have luck with running sterile, some with bennies and some just have no luck regardless of chillers and waterfalls bennies or pool shock. I think that some strains are also less prone to root rot. I had a Kandy Kush cut (TW pheno) that was pretty much impervious to root rot in DWC despite hot nutes in the low 80's that one strain would just blow up and didn't care where other strains wouldn't make it. DWC can be really easy or damn near impossible. I think that maintaining good VPD numbers becomes much more critical in DWC.

Its all about the water IMO, never paid much attention to vpd. Once I had a PM regime dialed in I never had a problem again. I only need chilling in the summer time in my veg system.
