Bud Rot problems...

Hi everyone, I haven't been on here for a while cause I took some time off from growing, mainly because I was lazy, but hopefully I'm back up and going...so I have one plant outside, because I do most of my growing indoors and use the outdoor ones for edibles mostly. So this one outdoor plant I have, I found some bud rot, not much thankfully, but a little of that brown/purplish tint to it. So I cut it out of the plant and inspected the rest of the plant and then I remembered that I saw a video of someone using a leaf blower on his outdoor plants after it rains...it's been rainy for a few days here...so I guess I should expect some bud rot. So my question is, what do you guys do have you cut out the bud rot? Does using a leaf blower sound like a good idea? I was surprised the branches didn't break because I lolipoped 'em. But their strong and I did it for about 10 to 15 minutes on both sides. Does any one out there have any suggestions? Do you think a leaf blower is of any use? I would love to hear from some of the experienced people out there in this wonderful group of ours.

Unfortunately from my experience once the gray mold starts...ther is no stopping it. You said you are going to use it to make edibles. So yo have that going for you. If it was my plant I would cut my losses and harvest now! You can try finishing it indoors, but if you have others inside u risk contamination. If you try to keep it dry as possible, and pray to make it to the finish line without losing your best colas you are taking a major gamble. Cut your losses in my opinion. Cut away any visible mold (look under a loop to be safe). Trim, hang, dry, and cure like normal. Decarboxylate and make oil or butter to cook with. Viola! I know it is hard to pull a premature plant. Trust me. Fuck mold tho! Worse of two evils. Again your plant. That's just what I would do. Good luck. Peace

I know that some outdoor folks use fans to promote airflow that should help with evaporation. I'd be hesitant to use a blower because it will force moisture even deeper in the flower. When I encounter rot on my outdoor grow, I try to use as clean a technique to remove the effected material so I don't reinfect other areas of the plant.

The thing about grey mold is that it (spores) is already present in your plant. Just waiting for optimum conditions for growth. (Excess humidity ect.) You can't get rid of it. You can try to slow it down. For every spot of mold you see there is more in earlier stages waiting to destroy your hard work. I hope you save the majority of your stash. Just make sure you don't smoke it. Make edibles. Even dead mold spores are harmful to smoke. Good luck. Peace
