Fungus gnats have a longer thorax, and root aphids have those twin tailpipes, stubbier body.
Might need a couple more pictures to see that separation at the thorax.

Damn got rid of sample, I’m going to go look for more. However by that pic I see it distinct difference in there antennas. So I’m leaning gnat

Then again maybe not. It seems like the thorax is separated in the last pic❓Also the antenna looks more like the fungus gnat example in the pic on post #6, however the wing distance seems like it may be longer than body indicating root aphid. I’m getting more confused by the minute.
Here’s the top view & other side view⁉6272D3EA-E3E0-4350-A4DA-54103721CEB9.jpeg0228E668-10AC-4E4C-8619-C97791535831.jpeg

FML pretty sure it’s a root aphid:cry: What do you think @DCcan ❓View attachment 4886247
Not unusual to have both. You can yank the plant out and look at the roots also, look for crawlers on the roots, they are quick and hate light.

Compare the distance where wings would end from where it joins, looks longer
These look like root aphids, the wings look like they extend beyond the body by a good distance, and thoraxes are not well defined.

I got another and scoped it. Yep, definitely root aphids. The wings are definitely longer than the body

My question now becomes what do I do to get through flower? I am only on day 33. So far the plant is perfectly healthy. Are root drenches not advised during flower?

These are my personal harvest of Fungus Gnats. I’ve had them for the past 3 grows. We lay out sticky traps and a BTI in the feed mix to eventually get rid of them for that round, but they always come back in the next batch of soil.

Some people like to top dress/mix bits in the medium. Good for prevention.
The liquid is best for treatments, just not time released like the Bits
That new bug looks well fed, if that's any help.
